How to care for the newly bought Kalanchoe

How to care for the newly bought Kalanchoe

1. Don’t rush to change the pot

Don't rush to repot the Kalanchoe. Its roots will adapt to the environment in the original pot. If you repot the plant too early, the plant itself will have to be changed when entering the home environment, and repotting may cause damage to the root system. It will cause insufficient water or nutrient intake, causing root rot and other phenomena. It is best to let it grow for a while, and then repot it when you see new flowers blooming or new buds growing and it has adapted to the environment.

2. Avoid strong light

Do not place it in a window sill, balcony or other environment with strong light too early. It is best to place it in a bright place and gradually expose it to sunlight to enhance its ability to adapt to the environment.

3. Rehydrate in time

You need to judge whether watering is needed based on the condition of the potting soil. It is inconvenient to water the plants at the flower market or during transportation, which may cause the potting soil to become too dry. In this case, water should be added in time to allow it to resume growth.

4. Don’t rush to fertilize

Don't rush to fertilize it. It is not recommended to fertilize most flowers during the flowering period. Improper fertilization will affect the flowering period.

5. Isolate from other plants

Newly purchased Kalanchoe should be kept at a distance from the flowers at home, as they may be infected with diseases and pests during the cultivation or sales process. If they are in contact with each other, it may cause infection. When it shows no signs of disease or pests, put it together with other plants.
