How to grow cyclamen in summer

How to grow cyclamen in summer

1. Timely pruning

In summer, cyclamen enters its dormant period. Therefore, pruning should be done before entering summer. The main thing is to cut off the dry, yellow, aging, and diseased branches and leaves. This will not only reduce unnecessary nutrient consumption and help the plant survive the summer, but also make its subsequent growth more vigorous. In addition to dead and diseased branches, you can also trim its shape according to your specific preferences and remove all the messy branches.

2. Cool down at the right time

In summer, the temperature can be very high, and the plants don't like temperatures that are too high. Therefore, when the temperature slowly rises, it is best to move the plant to a less hot place indoors for maintenance. When the temperature is really too high, it is time to take cooling measures. Too high a temperature is not conducive to the plants over the summer

3. Reduce watering

The plant is dormant now, so it does not need too much water. Therefore, the amount and frequency of watering should be reduced accordingly. In addition, the plants should be protected from rain, otherwise the roots will easily rot.

4. Suitable potting soil

When repotting, you can choose sandy soil, preferably one containing more humus. In addition, it is best to loosen the soil before entering summer.

5. Prevention and treatment of pests and diseases

Summer is a season of high temperature and high humidity, when some diseases and insect pests are most prevalent, so they must be prevented and controlled in a timely manner.
