How to grow cyclamen

How to grow cyclamen

1. Soil

The plant prefers soil with neutral pH, good air permeability and rich nutrients. Therefore, choose loose, neutral soil rich in humus. In addition, the soil must be changed regularly, and the requirements remain unchanged.

2. Light

The plant has a particularly high demand for light. Be sure to place it in a well-lit area. When the temperature is below 27 degrees, direct sunlight is also acceptable. However, when the temperature reaches above 27 degrees, appropriate shade is needed.

3. Watering

The plant prefers moisture, but is afraid of waterlogging. Therefore, the degree must be controlled well. Water when the soil is dry, and water thoroughly. In general, the demand is high in spring and autumn, and low in summer and winter.

4. Temperature

The most suitable range is between ten and twenty degrees. If it is not within this range, the growth of the plant will become very slow or even stagnant. In winter, pay attention to cold protection to prevent the plants from freezing to death.

5. Ventilation

Fresh air is very important for cyclamen. Turbid air will seriously hinder the growth of the plant. Therefore, regular ventilation is necessary. However, it should not be placed in a place where the wind is blowing. Otherwise, its leaves will fall off very easily. If it is in the flowering period, the flowers will easily fall off.

6. Pest and disease control

The plants are prone to some diseases, such as gray mold and soft rot. After discovery, use medication to prevent and treat it in time.
