Breeding methods and precautions of Golden Kylin

soil

The best medium for Golden Kylin is a mixture of river mud, pond mud and coal slag, with river mud and pond mud accounting for a larger proportion. This kind of soil is breathable and has good drainage, which is beneficial to the growth of golden unicorn.

Watering and fertilizing

Golden Kylin likes neutral water, and the water quality should not be too acidic or alkaline when watering. Do not water too much, as it will do more harm than good, so there should be no stagnant water in the Golden Kylin flowerpot, otherwise it will cause root rot, stem rot, and even the entire plant to rot. During the period of vigorous growth, the golden Kylin can be watered once every 6 to 7 days, basically watering it when the soil is dry and then watering it when it is wet. In summer, watering can be more frequent, once a day, but do not water thoroughly; in winter, basically do not water unless the soil is dry; in the rainy season, pay attention to drainage. Be careful not to water at a temperature too different from that indoors. Golden Kylin needs some base fertilizer when planting. During the growth period, it can be fertilized once a month, and some flower fertilizer can be applied during the flowering period to promote flowering.

Light and temperature

The golden unicorn originated from the desert of South America. It prefers light and a warm growing environment and is not cold-resistant. During the growing period, it is necessary to maintain sufficient light. It can be exposed to direct light in spring and autumn, and it should be shaded in summer. In winter, the Golden Kylin can be placed in a sunny place indoors for maintenance. Golden Kylin likes warmth and is not very cold-resistant. The growth temperature should be kept between 15℃ and 20℃. Pay attention to keeping warm in winter and keep the golden unicorn indoors for the winter.

Precautions

prune

During the growth process of Golden Kylin, the branches are not easy to branch, they will grow very long, the plant shape is not beautiful and there will be few flowers, which affects the viewing experience and needs to be pruned frequently. Cut off the dense and long branches to allow the plant to branch out and bloom more.

Improper maintenance

If the golden Kirin is not properly maintained, such as insufficient light, the flower color will become dull, and if it is too shaded for a long time, it will not bloom. Water and fertilizer management needs to be done well, and it should not be too much, otherwise the plant will grow too tall and may revert to its original state, affecting its appearance.

Repotting

The golden Kirin can be repotted every 1-2 years, and the soil should be removed and the roots trimmed when repotting. After potting, keep the soil moist. Place the golden kylin indoors for about ten days before moving it outdoors.
