Jasmine Camellia...Pull the roots and branches into the soil, and 1 pot will instantly become 10 pots, and the amount of flowers will be amazing!

How to propagate jasmine by layering?

Jasmine is suitable for low-pressure propagation. Simply bend the branches and press them into the soil, then wait for them to take root. The survival rate is almost 100%!

step

1. Branch selection

Select a 1-2 year old branch and make a cut at the bottom to facilitate the retention of organic matter and promote rooting.

2. Layering

Press the treated layering strip horizontally or bent into the soil where the mother plant is located, fix and bury it, then place it in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance, and keep the soil moist.

3. Cut off and transplant

After the layering takes root, it will mature within 1 to 2 months. At this time, cut off the layering from the mother plant, transplant it into a new pot, and maintain it normally.

Tips for caring for jasmine in summer

1. Watering: Water once in the morning and evening every day to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. When the air is dry, spray water around the potted plants frequently to keep them moist.

2. Light: Jasmine likes light and needs more sunlight during its peak flowering period in summer, but avoid strong sunlight.

3. Fertilization: Apply decomposed cake fertilizer water once a week or so in summer, and apply thin fertilizer frequently.

4. Pest and disease control: Jasmine is easily infected by red spider mites and leaf blight in summer. Once found, the diseased branches and leaves should be cut off immediately, and 20% trichlorodicofol diluted 1000~1500 times should be sprayed on the diseased area. Three consecutive times can reduce the spread of diseases and pests.

How to propagate camellia by layering?

Camellia has now entered its dormant period. From July to August, you can select old branches for layering propagation. Because camellia branches are high from the ground and not easy to bend, the high-altitude layering method is generally used.

step

1. Branch selection

For camellia layering, generally choose two-year-old, strong branches that are free of diseases and insect pests.

2. Ringing

0.5 cm below the node of the layered branch, use a knife to peel off a 1-2 cm wide ring of bark on the bark to expose the white wood. After air-drying for 1-2 hours, apply some rooting powder.

3. Soil preparation

Mix red mud, perlite and vermiculite to make nutrient soil.

4. Bagging

Choose a white transparent plastic bag, cut through it at the top and bottom, disinfect it with a fungicide, put it on the layering strip, tie the bottom tightly with a thin rope, then fill it with nutrient soil, spray water on it, and then tie it tightly.

5. Post-management

After completing the high-altitude layering, place it in a ventilated and diffused light place for maintenance. Be sure to add water frequently to keep the substrate moist. It will take root in one or two months, and can be transplanted after half a year of rooting.

Camellia summer care tips

1. Watering: Camellia will hibernate in summer, so you need to control the water appropriately and keep the soil slightly dry. You can spray water on the plant more often.

2. Light: When the temperature exceeds 30 degrees, shade it or place it in a place with scattered light indoors, and pay attention to ventilation.

3. Fertilization: Camellia likes fertilizer. Apply diluted compound fertilizer once a week during the growing period, and apply thin fertilizer frequently. Stop fertilizing after dormancy.

4. Pest and disease control: When the weather is hot and humid, camellia is easily infected by anthracnose and scale insects. If pests and diseases are found, remove the diseased branches and leaves first, and spray the diseased area with a 600-fold diluted thiophanate-methyl solution once a week.

How to propagate osmanthus by layering?

The branches of potted osmanthus are relatively thin and the operating space is small, so they are not suitable for the layering method of jasmine that uses mud as a substrate. Today Huahua will teach you a special method of layering: paper towel layering in the air.

step

1. Prepare tools

Prepare paper towels, disposable syringes, cotton swabs, plastic wrap, and old newspapers for use.

2. Ringing

Choose 1-2 year old healthy branches without diseases or insect pests, and ring them with a width of 1-2 cm. Then dip a cotton swab in rooting agent and apply it to the ring-barking area.

3. Wrapping strips

Fold a piece of paper towel in half twice, wrap it around the ring barking area, tie it tightly, and then wrap it with a layer of plastic wrap on the outside. The plastic wrap should completely wrap the paper towel, tie it tightly on the top and leave it slightly loose on the bottom to allow air and water to pass through and for the roots to come out.

After wrapping, use a syringe to inject water into it, making sure to keep the paper towel moist.

4. Shading treatment

Wrap the paper towel with a layer of old newspaper to block out the light, and it will take root after a month.

5. Planting in pots

One month after rooting, cut the branches, separate them from the mother plant, and then transplant them into a new pot.

Tips for caring for osmanthus in summer

1. Watering: The temperature is high in summer and the water evaporation is large. You should water the plant once before 9 am every day to keep the soil moist.

2. Light: Osmanthus loves light. June to August is the period of flower bud differentiation. It is necessary to ensure 10 hours of sufficient light every day to promote bud formation.

3. Fertilization: Apply decomposed cake fertilizer water, fish scale water or chicken and duck manure fertilizer once every 10 days or so in summer to ensure more and more fragrant flowers.

4. Pruning: To increase ventilation and promote flowering, overgrown branches, thin branches and twined branches should be cut off in time.

How to propagate roses by layering?

July to August is the most suitable season for rose layering propagation. Not only is the survival rate high, but it is also easier to bloom!

step

1. Branch selection

Select one-year-old branches with strong growth and full buds.

2. Ringing

0.5 cm below the node of the layered branch, use a knife to peel off a 1-2 cm wide ring of outer skin, scrape off the cambium, and after it is air-dried, apply some rooting powder.

3. Cup set

Choose a clean disposable paper cup or plastic bucket, drill a hole in the bottom, put it on the layering strip, then fill it with soil and water it. Several layering strips can be made on one rose plant at the same time.

4. Transplantation

Place the processed rose in a cool and ventilated place, keep the soil moist, and it will take root after a month. The rooted branches can be cut off and transplanted into a new pot.

Rose summer care tips

1. Watering: Spray water on the plants every morning and evening, water thoroughly every 2 to 3 days, and spray water on the air and ground around the potted plants every day to cool them down.

2. Light: Roses like light and need more than half of the light time every day. When they enter the high temperature semi-dormant period, they must be shaded and not exposed to direct sunlight.

3. Fertilization: Stop fertilizing during high temperature seasons, otherwise the root system will easily be burned.

4. Ventilation: Roses are most afraid of stuffiness and heat. If the soil in the pot is not breathable, the roots will easily rot. When caring for roses in the summer, you can turn on a fan next to the pot to increase ventilation.

The pressing strip is actually very simple.
