How to propagate Tiger Pilan

How to propagate Tiger Pilan

1. Cutting propagation

① Make adequate preparations before cuttings. First of all, we should choose relatively loose and breathable soil, so that the cuttings can survive more easily. It is best to prepare some loose soil and mix it with an appropriate amount of sand. Secondly, in terms of containers, you can take cuttings in new containers or in the original containers. For convenience, it is best to prepare separate containers.

②Pick fresh leaves from healthy and vigorous plants. You can use whole leaves for cuttings, or you can cut the leaves into small pieces of 6 or 7 cm for cuttings. But no matter how you do the cuttings, you must first put the leaves in a ventilated place for a day to dry the cut ends of the leaves. Then you can stick them into the soil. You don't need to insert too much into the soil, 3 or 4 centimeters is enough. But it can't be too little, too little is not conducive to rooting. After the cuttings are completed, place the leaves in a dark and ventilated place, and pay attention to watering to ensure that the soil is moist. However, do not water too much, otherwise it will cause leaf rot.

2. Propagation by division

The whole plant can be divided into several smaller plants. Make sure that each small part has leaves, rhizomes and suckers. The lack of any one of them will result in it not surviving. First, spread a layer of soil at the bottom of the prepared container, then place the small plants evenly in it starting from one side, and finally, fill the empty space with soil. The first time you water, you need to water thoroughly, and the amount of water you water afterwards needs to be controlled.
