How to grow Kalanchoe

How to grow Kalanchoe

1. Sufficient water

During the growing period, generally water once or twice a week. The specific number of watering times should be determined according to the condition of the soil. However, even though it is in its vigorous growth period, the water content needs to be controlled when the temperature is too high.

2. Appropriate amount of fertilizer

When the plant grows fastest, the nutrients in the soil will inevitably be insufficient and need to be supplemented artificially. Usually once every half a month. If it is in the flowering period, consider using more fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium. If the growth is significantly weakened, you can use more fertilizer and choose compound liquid fertilizer.

3. Adequate lighting

In order for the plant to grow vigorously, it must be provided with sufficient light. It takes about eight to nine hours of exposure every day. In order to ensure the uniformity of light reception, it is necessary to adjust the direction of light reception from time to time.

4. Regular pruning

The main thing is to cut off the withered flowers after they have faded to prevent them from consuming too many nutrients. At other times, you can also prune according to the specific situation, mainly cutting off old and diseased branches, supplying nutrients to new branches, and promoting vigorous growth of the plant.

5. Change pots regularly

If you don't change the pot, the lack of nutrients in the soil will seriously weaken the growth of the plant. It is usually done in spring, mixing garden soil, peat and sand as new soil, and the roots can also be pruned.

6. Increase ventilation

Pay attention to the placement of the plant, it is best to place it in a well-ventilated place.
