Picking Flowers

Since we are going to start picking up trash to grow flowers, of course we have to start by picking up flowers. Picking up a pot of flowers is like picking up a life!

There are often discarded flowers in flower markets and near community trash cans. These flowers usually just don’t grow well. You can take them home and still keep them alive!

Sometimes, if you are lucky, you can pick up the flowers and the pots together.

Digging soil for flowers

The most important thing in growing flowers is the soil. Loose, breathable and nutrient-rich soil is a must for growing flowers. Sometimes, these goodies can be found on the roadside!

1. Pine Needle Soil

There will be a thin layer of pine needle soil under the pine trees in the green belts in the community or on the roadside. Brush away the layer of pine needles on the surface and you can see the black pine needle soil.

Since there is only a small amount of pine needle soil, flower lovers can pick up pine needles and garden soil from under the pine trees, take them home, mix them, water them and ferment them, and use them after 2-3 months.

2. Leaf mold

Leaf mold is also relatively easy for flower lovers to collect. In season, there will be a large amount of fallen leaves piled up in roadside flower beds and groves. You can pick them up and make your own leaf mold at home.

After taking them home, scald the fallen leaves with hot water, then mix them with garden soil, put them in a bucket, and seal them with a black plastic bag. Place it in the sun to ferment, and water it 1-2 times during the fermentation period. It can be used after 2-3 months.

Pelvic floor pad

Keep the flower pot well air-permeable and water-permeable so that the flowers can grow well and vigorously. This naturally depends on putting some material at the bottom of the basin~

1. Roadside gravel and tiles

Broken stones and tiles on the roadside are the easiest to pick up and use them to pad the bottom of the pot to allow water and air to flow.

2. Pine cones

When flower lovers pick up pine needles, they might as well pick up some pine cones as well, take them home and dry them in the sun, and then use them to pad the bottom of the pot.

flowerpot

How can you grow flowers without flower pots? You have to buy flower pots, and sometimes pay more attention near the trash can, you might find a surprise!

Flower lovers will say that discarded flower pots are broken, but broken flower pots can become beautiful after transformation!

Waste wood pieces can be picked up to make flower pots.

You can drill a few holes in the wood you picked up and use it to grow small succulents.

Flower stand

Do you have all the materials for growing flowers? No, no, no, how can it be the end without a flower stand! You can also pick up flower stands from the roadside~

If there are any renovation shops or construction sites nearby, keep an eye on them at all times. If you find any discarded waste wood, remember to take it home immediately!

Simply nail it down, paint it, and put flowers on it, and it saves space and looks great!

If the wood you picked up is too small to make a large flower stand, you can choose to make it into a succulent combination pot, which will be equally beautiful.

Are you moved after watching it?

Hurry up and go for a walk.

Maybe you’ll have a surprise too!
