Cultivation methods and precautions of red nan

Red nanmu is a common deciduous tree with a small plant and high ornamental value. Many people like to grow it as a green plant. Here I will introduce to you the cultivation methods and precautions of red nanmu.

1. Soil selection

Red nanmu likes loose, well-drained soil. It is recommended to use sandy loam or leaf mold and other soils with good air permeability. A small amount of well-rotted organic fertilizer can be added to the soil to provide nutrients.

2. Adequate lighting

Red nanmu likes light and should be placed in a place with sufficient light, such as a balcony or windowsill. Insufficient light will cause the plant to grow too tall. Supplementary artificial radiation is needed in winter.

3. Watering matters

Red nanmu is drought-resistant and has low water requirements. Excessive watering will cause waterlogging of the roots and affect the normal breathing of the plant. Generally, you can water it after the soil is completely dry. The new piles should be kept moist and not lack water. The mature plants should not be too dry in autumn to avoid a large amount of leaf falling. Before the winter cold wave arrives, ensure adequate water.

4. Fertilization matters

Red nanmu likes fertilizer, but do not apply concentrated fertilizer, as it will easily cause root rot. No fertilizer is required for the new stump in the first year. In the second year, depending on the growth of the plant, fertilizer can be applied every half a month or once a month during the growing season.

5. Regular pruning

Regular pruning of the red nanmu will help maintain the plant's nice shape and encourage new growth. Cut off diseased and insect-infested leaves and withered branches to keep the plant healthy.

6. Pest and disease control

Checking the plants regularly, dealing with pests and diseases in a timely manner, maintaining a good ventilation environment, and exposing the plants to more sunlight can effectively prevent pests and diseases.

7. Pay attention to the temperature

Red nanmu prefers a warm environment, and the best growth temperature is between 20-35 degrees Celsius. It has good cold and heat resistance and can grow normally at a high temperature of 35 degrees Celsius. The temperature in winter must not drop below 0 degrees Celsius.
