What to do if the jade tree grows too tall

What to do if the jade tree grows too tall

1. Pay attention to maintenance methods

1. It needs enough light on a normal basis to avoid growing in vain, but it should not be given too much light. When the sunlight is too strong in summer, it must be properly shaded.

2. As for watering it, once a month is enough, and avoid watering too much.

3. When growing it, you must have your own method to choose the soil. It is more suitable for loose sandy soil, and the drainage of the flowerpot must be good.

4. When the jade plant grows to about 15 centimeters, it is time to prune it or pinch off the top to promote branching. Avoid allowing only the branches and leaves to receive light. Following these steps can basically ensure its normal growth and prevent it from growing in vain.

2. Leaf cutting propagation

This method can be used to recreate a pot of such a plant without wasting time. First, place the thicker leaves you picked directly on the soil without watering, and then place them in a dry and ventilated place. Do not leave them directly in the sun. In this case, it will take one or two months for it to grow sprouts and roots. It is important to pick leaves that are healthier and stronger.

3. Stem cutting propagation

This method is also a way to get a healthy plant again. First, use a sterilized knife to cut a section of the stem, making sure each section has at least two growth nodes. Then place the stem in a ventilated and shaded place to air dry for two days. After the cut edge becomes dry, you can plant it in the soil. Be sure to cut the growing branches for cuttings. After cuttings, ensure that the soil has a certain humidity. The roots will take shape in 20 to 30 days. After cutting off a section of the stem, just leave a small stump of about seven centimeters at the bottom of the remaining root. New leaves will grow again soon.
