Succulent roses...From toothpick seedlings to bursting pots, it only takes 30 days!

Succulent

Succulents are not as fragile as everyone thinks. If you let them grow, the plump flesh will become a piece of heaven sooner or later.

1. Leaf cutting rooting (above 10 degrees)

Before leaf cuttings, water the soil to maintain humidity (you can also use rooting water), and place it flat on the soil with the leaves facing up. Try to place it in a ventilated place, and it is also better to have scattered sunlight.

2. Move to a small pot

The succulents that have sprouted and taken root can be planted directly in a small pot, or you can wet the soil in advance, bury it gently, and water it once every 3-5 days. Don't sprinkle water on the tender leaves.

3. Watering and sunshine

Succulent plants are not tolerant to humidity and heat, and should be watered once every 5-7 days (watered if the soil is dry). Placing them in a well-ventilated place should allow for better metabolism. Be careful not to expose the succulents to the sun during the seedling stage, scattered light is best~

4. Pest and disease control

Succulent insect diseases are mainly scale insects and whiteflies. Common diseases are leaf water and black rot. Don't be afraid when you encounter these problems, they are all a piece of cake~

If there are only a few bugs, just remove them with tweezers or wipe them with toilet paper.

If the situation is serious, spray insecticide while wearing a mask and gloves. Afterwards, cover the meat with a plastic bag and all the insects will die in about 20 minutes. Be careful not to kill insects when the temperature is high to avoid causing dizziness and discomfort.

If the succulent plant becomes waterlogged or has black rot, it is basically a problem with the roots. If you find that one or two pieces of the plant have become diseased, you should dig it out to see if the roots are rotten.

After cleaning the rotten roots, soak them in carbendazim solution for 10-20 minutes for disinfection, and then replant them after drying.

If the roots are almost rotten, you can cut them all off and soak them in rooting water. After 7-12 days of rooting, plant them again.

5. Leggy and old stumps

Poor soil and too much water may cause the succulent to grow too tall. If the main stem looks quite thick, just remove 1/3 of the leaves and reduce watering (water once every 7-10 days), and it will become an old stump in about two weeks.

If the succulent grows too long and thin, it doesn't look good, just cut off the head and replant it.

6. Change soil and pots

Succulents reproduce quickly, usually growing in groups in 2-3 months. If they grow too fast and the flower pot is not suitable, they need to be repotted and soil added. After they become old, the soil should be changed once a year to ensure nutrition.

Rose

Are you all fascinated by the beauty of roses recently? Why don’t you plant them quickly?

1. Cutting rooting (above 10 degrees)

Rose cuttings are the old way. Cut a branch with 3-4 buds, soak it in rooting water (7-12 days), and directly insert it into moist and fluffy sand (10-15 days), and it will take root.

2. Light and moisture

Roses like light and can be exposed to the sun all day (below 32 degrees), so they must be kept well hydrated, watered about once every 2-3 days.

3. Adequate fertilization

In order to make the flowers bloom more frequently and bigger, the fertilizer must be sufficient. In addition to buying rose fertilizer directly, chicken manure, cow and sheep manure, peanut shells, bean dregs, etc. are all good fertilizers.

Note that it is best to bury the bean dregs in the soil and ferment for 1 month before use. Add about 10 grams of fertilizer every 10 days. Don't add too much, or it will burn the roses.

4. Prevention and control of rose insect diseases

Common insect diseases of roses include: black spots, powdery mildew, leafcutter bees, and aphids. Pay attention to cleaning. When watering, spray the leaves to wash away the insects, or directly remove the insect leaves to prevent insects from breeding.

Cover the pot with a thin layer of wood ash, which can not only serve as potassium fertilizer, but also prevent insect diseases, killing two birds with one stone! But be careful not to sprinkle too much to prevent the soil from becoming salinized and rotting.

Crush garlic or chili and soak it in water (garlic and water 1:3). After soaking for 2-3 days, add clean water (1:500) and pour it on the leaves with insects. It is more powerful than carbendazim.

Put a sticky board (ordinary sticky material will do) in the rose cluster, and it will easily catch small flying insects. The sticky board in the picture is rolled up to catch insects from all directions!

5. Rose pruning

The beauty of roses depends on 70% care and 30% pruning. Don't be reluctant to cut. In spring and autumn, prune away dry branches and inward branches (thin and weak branches growing inward) to keep the shape uniform.

The following picture is a comparison of before and after pruning, which is much more refreshing.

Bougainvillea

Most flower lovers like bougainvillea, which is easy to grow and blooms a lot. If you like it, don't hesitate.

1. Pruning and rooting

No need to buy seedlings, just cut 1-year-old new branches (10-15 cm long, remove leaves), soak them in rooting water and they will take root in about 20 days

2. Sunlight and water

Bougainvillea needs long days to bloom in large quantities, so it is suitable for outdoor cultivation or south balcony cultivation. Although it is large, it is afraid of waterlogging. Water it thoroughly when the soil in the pot is dry. It gets thirsty quickly during the flowering period, so water it in time.

3. Apply fertilizer in time

The flowering machine must have enough fertilizer. In addition to buying fertilizer on the market, you can also make your own bougainvillea fertilizer.

Meat bones ground into powder (crushing is also OK), fish and shrimp offal, etc., added to soil and fermented for 1 month to become fertilizer, which can all be used as phosphorus fertilizer. Add it to the potting soil once every 7-10 days, about 10 grams each time, to ensure that the flowers will bloom continuously~

Geranium

Geraniums are brightly colored and have a long flowering period. Once planted, how can one pot be used?

1. Can be sown and cuttaged (above 15 degrees)

Geranium seeds are easy to get, so we can sow and propagate them as conveniently as possible. It is better to choose fluffy and moist soil. Seedlings will emerge within 20 days after sowing, and roots will take about 10 days after cuttings.

2. Light and moisture

Geraniums like warm environments. They can be exposed to the sun frequently in spring and autumn. In summer, they can be moved indoors to avoid sunburn. In winter, they can survive safely as long as there is no frost or freezing.

Shallow-rooted geraniums are afraid of waterlogging and moisture, so it is better to water them when the soil is dry. Proper water control can keep them healthy.

3. Pinching and topping

If you want geraniums to grow vigorously, you must insist on topping and pinching. Don’t be bothered by it. Find a way to do it in one go!

First pinching: pinch when the seedlings grow to 15 cm high, and then multiple heads will grow

Second pinching: Prune 2-3 month old seedlings, leaving 10 cm high, and spread the branches after pinching

The third pinching: pinch the top after flowering to make the whole flower into a ball shape

Clivia

Clivia is full of temperament and is a low-key choice for growing flowers. Don’t be fooled by its aloofness, it is not difficult to grow.

1. Sowing (above 20 degrees)

After the Clivia blooms, it produces seeds. Peel the seeds and soak them in warm water (30-40 degrees) for 2-5 days before they sprout.

After germination, bury it in fluffy, slightly moist grass soil (pine and cypress leaves are fine), spray water every day to keep it moist, and it will sprout green heads in about 20 days, then you can plant it in pots.

2. Does Clivia like shade?

Many flower lovers think that Clivia likes shade, so they keep it indoors. This will not only slow down its growth, but also slow down its flowering. In fact, it likes bright diffuse light. Except for summer, it can be placed on the windowsill in other seasons to bask in the sun.

3. Clivia clip arrow

When growing Clivia, you often encounter the problem of the arrow being stuck. This method is also a commonplace. Put it in a small dark room immediately and pull it out after 3-5 days.

You can also pour some beer water on the Clivia with arrows. Mix beer and water (1:50) and pour it on the flower, and the flower will bloom.

4. Correct your posture

Because of uneven lighting, Clivia can easily grow crooked, so correcting it is really an obsessive-compulsive job! Just use toilet paper and a few small pins to fix it.

During the correction process, turn the flower pot about 45 degrees every 7 days. The correction period is 20-30 days to ensure that each side receives the same amount of sunlight.
