Cutting method of Pina colada

Cutting method of Pina colada

1. Time

To perform this operation, we still need to find the right time. Generally, we perform this operation at the end of spring and the beginning of summer, because many conditions are more suitable at this time.

2. Branches

There is a method for selecting branches. Generally, we should choose semi-lignified branches that grow in the same year, and the length is about 20 cm. We should immediately put it in a bag with appropriate humidity for use. Of course, it is best to use wet toilet paper or cloth to wrap its wounds.

3. Scrub

We need to clean the cutting vessel, remove any residual substances inside, and then wash it clean.

4. Matrix

There are still requirements for the substrate. Generally, we have to choose one that is more breathable, such as perlite and peat, and then we have to spray it with moisture. The humidity should be moderate, and it does not need to be particularly wet. Generally, it is good enough if it can be held into a ball and not fall apart. If water can come out when you hold it, it is still not good enough.

5. Cuttings

The preliminary preparations have been completed. The specific operation is to take the branches out of the plastic bag, then cut off the leaves below, and then stick some rooting powder on the bottom. Of course, this needs to be done in accordance with its usage requirements. Then we insert the branches into the medium. One thing to note is that the leaves cannot touch its edges.

6. Bagging

We need to cover it with a bag and place it at a temperature of around 20 degrees in a place with diffuse light. Open the bag once or twice a day and check the moisture content inside. If it is lacking in water, you can try spraying some water on it.

7. Rooting

Generally, roots will grow in about two weeks. If you want to transplant it, you still need to wait until the root length is about eight centimeters.
