How to keep ranunculus alive during the winter

How to keep ranunculus alive during the winter

1. Temperature

The first thing we need to know is what temperature environment it can adapt to. Generally speaking, around 20 degrees Celsius during the day is better, while 7 to 10 degrees Celsius at night is very good. But it is still difficult to achieve in winter, so we still need to pay attention to keep warm. The minimum temperature should be above minus one degree, but it is better if it is higher than this.

In addition, we also have to consider whether to plant it in the south or the north, because the temperature in the south will not be too low in winter, so we can put it on the balcony, but it is different in the north, and it must be placed in the room. In addition, if it is planted in large quantities, you can cover it with a layer of film, and when its new leaves grow well, you can manage the temperature normally.

2. Lighting

It cannot accept strong light and prefers a semi-shaded environment. However, we need to know that there is not much light in winter, so we must give it enough light. Only in this way can it grow well.

3. Fertilizer

It needs fertilizer in all seasons, but in winter it is better to use nitrate nitrogen compound fertilizer, preferably chlorine-free. We cannot stop fertilizing in winter, we just need to adjust the elements contained in the fertilizer. Only in this way can it survive more normally.

4. Moisture

Because it prefers a humid environment, but it is very afraid of waterlogging, so we still have to water it, but not too much. Generally, just keep its surface moist and the leaves from wilting.
