When to repot bicolor jasmine

When to repot bicolor jasmine

1. Time to change pots

The frequency of repotting should not be too high, otherwise it will be detrimental to the development of the roots. This kind of plant generally only needs to be repotted once every two to three years. The time for repotting is mostly in April, because its flowering period is from April to October. In order to ensure sufficient nutrition during the flowering period, it is necessary to repot. The soil fertility after renewal is more sufficient, which is conducive to later flowering.

2. Repotting method

When you move the plant out, cover it with soil to protect the roots and reduce water loss. Use sticky culture soil as the new potting soil. Remove some of the old potting soil when repotting. Because over time, the nutrients in the soil have been consumed by the plant body, and the fertility of the loam itself will also decrease, which is not conducive to the later growth and development of the plant. The specific composition of the soil can be selected by mixing equal amounts of leaf mold, garden soil, and coal slag ash. The soil should be kept acidic and alkaline soil should not be used. After changing the pot, water it thoroughly once, and then do not water it for a while, because the roots are not yet fixed and cannot fully absorb water. Excessive watering will cause waterlogging.

3. Notes

Be careful not to damage the roots when repotting. Water thoroughly after repotting and place in a ventilated and cool place. Resume normal maintenance after a week. If the leaves wilt due to lack of water, spray them with water first, and then water them thoroughly again after the leaves become full again.
