1. Collecting seeds

Papaya usually matures in August or September every year. At this time, the seeds need to be collected. After removing the pulp, the seeds should be soaked in clean water. After cleaning, they need to be soaked in soda water for 5 hours. Then, they should be taken out and placed in a lighted environment to dry. After the moisture on the surface of the seeds evaporates, they can be sown and planted.

2. Matrix treatment

Before planting papaya, you should choose a loose soil, add an appropriate amount of river sand to the original soil, turn it deeply, and expose it to the sun for disinfection. You can add some base fertilizer to the bottom of the pit to improve the fertility. After the soil treatment is completed, you can plant it.

3. Seeding and planting

Papaya seeds are small and need to be sown by broadcasting. The seeds can be placed in fine sand, stirred thoroughly and then sown on the soil. If the temperature is below 20 degrees, a layer of straw can be covered on the seedbed to keep warm. In about 1-2 months, the seeds will break through the soil.

Daily management precautions for papaya

1. Pruning: Papaya needs to be topped during the seedling stage to promote the growth of side branches. During the growth period, the densely growing branches, long branches, weak branches, diseased and insect-infested branches, old branches and cross branches should be cut off one by one to effectively avoid nutrient consumption and achieve the purpose of beautiful shape.

2. Light: Papaya likes to grow in an environment with sufficient light. In daily maintenance and management, it is best to place it in a place with good light. This is conducive to photosynthesis and promotes the healthy growth of branches and leaves. When the light is relatively strong, it needs to be covered with a shade net.

3. Fertilizer and water: Papaya likes a humid environment and needs to be watered in time during the growth period to keep the soil moist. A thin liquid fertilizer can be applied every 15 days. During the flowering and fruiting period, additional phosphorus and potassium fertilizers and potassium dihydrogen phosphate fertilizers should be applied. Be careful to avoid water accumulation and fertilizer damage.
