How to take cuttings of Pennisetum odoratum

How to take cuttings of Pennisetum odoratum

Cutting method

Material preparation

Pogostemon cablin (grows well), small flower pots, soil, watering can, and gardening tools.

Cutting steps

1. Prepare a pot of oleander that is growing well. It should look very energetic, with strong branches and no signs of rot.

2. Choose one of the thick branches and pinch it off near the bottom. Be careful not to damage the stem. It is best to use scissors.

3. Prepare flower pots and soil. You don't have to buy new flower pots, you can just use the old ones or the seedling pots, or you can plant them directly in a spacious pot.

4. Trim the cut branches, remove the leaves below, and then insert them into the soil. Wet the soil surface before cuttings to make cuttings easier.

5. Water the plants after cuttings. Water them thoroughly and place them in a cool place for maintenance. Roots will grow in about ten days.

6. During the root growth period, do not water too much, just keep the soil moist and do not turn it into mud. On rainy days, move the plants to a sheltered place.

After the above 6 steps, all that’s left is to wait. In about half a month, new small leaves will grow. If new branches also grow out, it proves that the cuttings have survived. If you take good care of it, it will grow into a bigger tree!
