How to transplant dianthus

How to transplant dianthus

1. Time

It belongs to the Caryophyllaceae family and has strong adaptability. Many of its varieties can survive the cold winter in the north, and if planted at home, they can generally survive for many years. It can be divided into two rounds of planting, spring and autumn. If it is sown in spring, it will bloom in September and October. If it is planted in autumn, it will bloom in May and June of the following year. The flowering usually lasts about two months. Many areas choose to plant in autumn. Generally, in August to September, the garden soil is watered thoroughly and the seeds are sprinkled in. It only takes seven to ten days for the seedlings to grow. When it is 3 cm tall, transplant it to a place with light and no wind. It will help it survive the winter. There is no need to protect it from the cold. If it is too cold, just cover it with some leaves. It can be transplanted at the end of April of the following year. If you choose to sow in April, you can transplant them when they grow to three or four centimeters. There should be at least six centimeters between each plant.

2. Operation

First, prepare the pots and fertile soil, apply the base fertilizer, and plant five to six seeds in each pot to prevent some seeds from failing to germinate. When one or two leaves grow out, you can thin out the seedlings, and when three or four leaves grow out, you can transplant them. Note that there should be about 5 cm interval between each small plant, plant three in each pot, and then water them. It can be planted in June.

3. Daily Management

1. The planting place should have light and be relatively cool. It does not need very good soil, but it must have good drainage and ventilation. If you are planting in a pot, you need to use culture soil.

2. During its growth period, it needs to be fertilized with liquid fertilizer once every ten days. If it is planted in garden soil, it needs to be fertilized two or three times. If it is planted in autumn, the seeds can be collected in July. The plants can be cut off to leave the roots, and new branches will grow in August. It can bloom in September and October. When it is a seedling, you must pay attention to drainage, otherwise it will get damping-off disease.
