How to grow money tree leaves so that they grow wide

How to grow money tree leaves so that they grow wide

1. Temperature

If you want the leaves of the money tree to grow long and wide, the temperature must be just right. It grows well in temperatures between 20-32 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is too high in summer, pay attention to cooling down. For plants planted in the fields, you can use black nets to block the strong summer light; potted plants can be moved to a cool place. The temperature in autumn and winter is no longer suitable for its growth. If planted in the fields, you need to use a greenhouse to keep it warm; potted plants can be placed indoors, and it is of course better to have heating, but if there is no heating, you must find other ways to keep it warm.

2. Lighting

The leaves of the money tree contain a lot of water and feel very tender, which makes it need sunlight but also afraid of direct sunlight. Especially the midday sun in summer is too hot and may burn its tender leaves. But if you want the leaves to grow wide, they need the nourishment of sunlight and rain, so you can create a semi-shaded environment for it, which can both ensure that it receives the sunlight it needs for growth and prevent it from being burned by strong light.

3. Humidity

Money tree likes a humid environment, but at the same time it is very drought-resistant, so it should be provided with an environment with moist air and dry soil. The air humidity in summer is generally over 50%, so you don't need to think too much about it, but it's best to water it once a day and keep the soil slightly moist; the air humidity in other seasons may not be qualified. In order to increase the humidity, you can spray water around the plants.

4. Flower soil

For potted money trees, it is best to change the pot every two years, because it is relatively drought-resistant and requires good permeability of the flower soil. However, after potting for a long time, the viscosity of the flower soil will increase, which is not conducive to air permeability and water permeability, and can easily cause root rot. The potting soil can be made by mixing coarse sand, charcoal ash, and a small amount of field soil. This kind of soil is easy to drain and not prone to water accumulation. The acidity and alkalinity of the flower soil should preferably be in a weak acid state.

5. Fertilization

When the temperature is suitable, the money tree grows vigorously and needs a lot of fertilizer to ensure nutrition and make the leaves grow wide. In autumn, when the temperature is below 15 degrees Celsius, very little nutrients are needed and do not apply fertilizer, otherwise the roots may be burned by the fertilizer.
