How to grow mustard greens

1. Soil

Mustard greens are more suitable for cultivation in sandy soil with loose texture, rich nutrients and convenient irrigation and drainage. Avoid continuous cropping, otherwise it will lead to variety degeneration and slow growth.

2. Temperature

It likes coolness and avoids extreme heat. 12 to 22 degrees Celsius is the optimum temperature for its growth. During the high temperature period in summer, you should pay attention to sun protection and avoid prolonged direct sunlight.

3. Lighting

Ensuring sufficient and soft light can promote its metabolism and accelerate growth. Otherwise, developmental delay may occur and the risk of disease will increase.

4. Fertilization

After entering the autumn period, it will be in a stage of rapid growth, and fertilizer and water should be supplemented in time. You can add wood ash and calcium phosphate into the fertilizer water, and apply compost or urea fertilizer 2-3 times while watering.

5. Watering

Water should be applied promptly after planting. Its growth will slow down in late autumn, and the amount and frequency of watering should be reduced appropriately according to the growth conditions. During the rainy season, attention should be paid to drainage to prevent death from waterlogging.

1. Attention should be paid to timely disinfection of the soil. Chemical pesticides such as dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane and carbendazim can be used for disease prevention and control.

2. Weeding should be done well during inter-cultivation. Generally, weeding is required 3-4 times a year.
