The correct way to water Clivia with beer

1. Proportion problem

If we want to use beer to supplement the nutrients needed for flowering, we must pay attention to controlling the ratio of water and beer. The ratio is one cup of beer mixed with thirty cups of water. If you are worried about not being able to control it well, you can prepare a container with a scale and mix it according to the proportion. This formulated liquid will not harm the roots of the plants or cause the soil to become caked.

2. Fertilizer

As we all know, most plants need to bloom and absorb nutrients, so they need to change their potting soil and apply fertilizer every spring. The same is true for this plant. When we change the pot in spring, we can take some beer and mix it with soil, and put the soil at the bottom of the pot, occupying about one-third of the space. This can effectively avoid root damage, play a nutritional role, and save our daily fertilization.

3. Time control

This kind of plant itself cannot be placed in a place exposed to direct strong sunlight, because this will accelerate the evaporation of water in the plant body, and the leaves will turn yellow or even dry up, so it is best for us to wait until the sun sets before applying fertilizer. This time allows the roots of the plant to slowly absorb the nutrients it needs, and does not cause the roots to be damaged by excessive beer concentration due to rapid water loss.

4. Direct spraying

Some flower lovers like to wipe the leaves with water, which not only looks beautiful but also helps the leaves breathe. Likewise, beer. You can mix beer and water in a ratio of 1:20, pour the diluted liquid into a spray bottle, and then sprinkle it on the leaves. This method can make the leaves more beautiful and the flowers more colorful. This approach does not require consideration of time or season.

5. Water the flowers according to the season

Do not use beer to water plants in the hot summer, because the water evaporates quickly and the temperature is high, which will easily lead to diseases and pests. Because the plants need to rest in winter, it is not suitable to water them in this season. You can choose to fertilize during the two peak growing seasons, spring and autumn.
