How to propagate green radish by cuttings and hydroponics

1. How to take cuttings

1. Flower soil: The flower soil used for cuttings of green radish should be breathable and clean. Vermiculite is recommended. It is best if the soil can be disinfected before use. Generally, potassium permanganate can be used for disinfection. Otherwise, the chance of branch rot will increase. When preparing the soil, you can mix leaf mold, peat soil and some vermiculite.

2. Pruning: Cut branches from the mother plant. The length of the cut should be about 10-13cm, and it is best if there are buds on it. After cutting it, cut a section off the bottom at an angle to allow for better contact with the soil. Generally, you only need to leave 2-3 leaves on the upper part. If the leaves are larger, you can cut them in half.

3. Treatment: Before starting cuttings, soak them in rooting water or dip them in a little rooting powder. If you keep it at home, you can mix sugar and water in a ratio of 1:100, which can also help it take root.

4. Cuttings: It is relatively easy at the beginning. Just slowly insert the branches into the soil and fix them with flower soil. After cuttings, do not expose it to sunlight, just spray it with some water and make sure it is ventilated.

2. How to hydroponically cultivate

Hydroponics is also a maintenance method. If you want to change from soil cultivation to hydroponics, dig it out of the potting soil, clean the soil and roots, and place it in a hydroponic container. You can also cut branches, place them in water, change the water every 3-4 days, and wait for them to grow new roots.
