How to plant Cleome seeds

How to plant Cleome seeds

one. Sowing steps:

1First, you need to prepare the soil for sowing. This plant does not require too special soil, but it is best to prepare some sandy soil containing humus with good drainage. Because this plant can grow healthily in both sandy soil and clay soil except for poor development in alkaline soil, especially in slightly acidic sandy soil. If you want to mix the soil yourself, you can mix leaf mold and vegetable garden soil in equal amounts to use as soil for sowing and cultivation.

2 After the soil is prepared, it must be disinfected. This can prevent pests and diseases from invading seeds or seedlings. The best way to disinfect is to heat the soil in a pot, and the high temperature will kill the pests and diseases.

3 Then, in order to increase the success rate of seed germination, we can first stimulate the growth of seedlings. Soak the seeds in water at about 25 to 30 degrees for 3 to 10 hours, until you see the seeds swell up due to absorbing water, and then you can take them out.

4 Some seeds are difficult to pick up by hand, so we can prepare toothpicks, wet one end of the toothpick with water, pick up the seeds and place them on the prepared breeding soil layer, subdividing them one by one, and then covering them with a one-centimeter thick layer of soil, and then put the seeded flowerpot in the water. The depth of water immersion should reach about one-half or two-thirds of the height of the flowerpot, and let the water slowly overflow.

5 For larger seeds that can be picked up by hand, they can be placed directly on the soil layer, and the distance between seeds should reach a space of 3x3 cm. After sowing, cover the seeds with a layer of soil that is about 2 to 3 times the size of the seeds. After sowing, you can wet the soil layer with water, and then wait until you see the soil in the pot is slightly dry before watering.

two. Note:

The growth pattern of this plant is not much different from that of crops. It is sown in spring and harvested in autumn, so sowing can be chosen in the mild spring. The seeds need the temperature to be above 20 degrees to germinate, so when sowing in early spring, a plastic shed should be built to keep warm, and they will germinate in about a week. If sowing in the north, the time can be delayed.
