Cultivation methods and precautions of Pansy

Cultivation methods and precautions of Pansy

1. About the cultivation method of Pansy

1. Lighting

The sunlight in Europe where pansies first grew was not very abundant, so the pansies have developed the characteristic of not being very sensitive to light. But pansies still like sunlight very much. If you give them more light, they will grow more branches. It does not grow well in the shade.

2. Soil

The soil should be sandy with a slightly acidic pH of 5.5 to 6.5, good drainage and high in organic matter. When sowing, you can mix peat and pearl salt in a 1:1 ratio. Keep the soil moist.

3. Temperature

The origin of the pansy determines its ability to withstand severe cold, and it can even withstand mild frost. Pansies in warm regions such as the south can survive a winter. Pansies cannot be grown in places with too high temperatures. 10 to 15 degrees is the best temperature. They cannot grow normally if the temperature exceeds 30 degrees.

4. Fertilization

After the pansy seedlings grow tender leaves, you can use 50 to 75 ppm nitrogen fertilizer, and then gradually increase the concentration to 100 ppm. It is also necessary to add appropriate amount of potassium fertilizer, with the two in a ratio of 1:1.5. Trace element solution should also be sprayed to supplement Fe and Mg elements.

5. Pest and disease control

Pansy may be destroyed by pests such as aphids, red spiders, and thrips. Attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the cultivation environment and it should not be planted in places where pests exist. Common diseases include leaf ring disease and downy mildew. Controlling soil pH can also reduce the likelihood of pansies becoming diseased.

2. Precautions for breeding pansy

If high temperatures are encountered during the cultivation of pansies, the temperature should be reduced in time and the plants should be placed in a ventilated place to prevent the pansies from withering. You can't water pansies too much because they grow in a cool environment and lose less water, so they don't need too much water. Be careful to keep it indoors. It is difficult for pansies placed outdoors to have the best growing environment. Pansies have a relatively low demand for fertilizer, or at least they don't burn a lot of fertilizer. When you fertilize the flowers you grow at home, you should also water the pansies a little after fertilizing them. The pansies will then grow healthily and bloom small flowers of wonderful colors.
