How to plant Dianthus chinensis seeds

How to plant Dianthus chinensis seeds

1. Prepare seeds

After the flowers fade, many seeds will be produced. After these seeds are mature, we can harvest them and soak them in water for half an hour. This will promote the germination of the seeds later.

2. Prepare the flower pots and soil for sowing

Before planting, we need to prepare a flowerpot first. After choosing the flowerpot, you can put some soil in it. The soil must meet the growth needs of the seeds. Generally, we choose some loose and breathable soil so that the seeds can germinate more easily.

3. Sowing time

When sowing, you must also choose the right time. The right time also has a great impact on the survival of the seeds. Generally, it is planted directly in pots in spring or autumn. However, in some cold areas, you need to be careful when sowing. Generally, you cannot plant them directly in the potting soil. You should choose to plant them in a cold bed or a hot bed so that the seeds will be easier to survive.

4. Planting seeds

We put the prepared seeds in the container one by one. Be careful when putting them in. Don't put them in too hard. Just put them in slowly. This will be more conducive to seed germination. After the seeds are planted, we can sprinkle some thin soil on them to keep the seeds warm, and then water them appropriately. When watering, it is best to water them thoroughly. You cannot water them again for a few days. After watering, as long as you control the temperature appropriately, the seeds will generally sprout in about ten days.

5. Later maintenance

After the seeds sprout, we need to spray some sterilization drugs on them, and then spray them again after three or four days. Then when the sprouts grow 4 to 5 leaves, we can transplant them into larger pots. This will make it easier for the sprouts to grow faster.
