How to breed silver edge jade

1. Planting

The planting season for silver-edged jade is spring every year. People in the north usually grow it in pots. Put the flower soil with flower fertilizer in the pot, sprinkle the seeds evenly, and then cover with a layer of flower soil. Then pour an appropriate amount of water and cover the flowerpot with a layer of plastic film to provide a warm and humid environment for the plant. It is best to keep the temperature around 20 degrees, or you can place the potted plants on the balcony indoors. Because the plants have a suitable growing environment, growers can wait for the plants to bloom, which usually takes about seven to ten days.

Specific sowing quantity: The seeds can be sown at a distance of three times three centimeters. There is no need to sow too many seeds, just an appropriate amount will be enough. After sowing, you can use a sprayer to wet the surface of the flower soil, and then spray water when the potting soil is slightly dry.

Management after sowing: After sowing in autumn, the plants should be adjusted in time. When the temperature is low, cover the plastic film tightly. When the temperature rises, pay attention to prevent the sun from burning the young shoots. Open a small gap in the plastic film appropriately to ensure better growth of the seed buds.

2. Cutting

Cuttings are different from natural sowing. The plants for cuttings must be young branches with vigorous growth. Specific operation: reserve 15 cm long tender branches, cut the wound into a pointed shape, and insert them into the flower soil. The depth should not be too deep. Remember, you cannot water the plants in the first four days, otherwise the branches will be soaked in water, which will make them prone to rot and be detrimental to their rooting and germination. In addition to this method, you can also dip the wound of the branch into wood ash and then insert it into the flower soil. It will take root and sprout after two weeks.

Subsequent maintenance management:

Temperature: Temperature has a serious impact on the rooting of plants. If the temperature is too low, the cuttings will have difficulty taking root. In winter, the plants can be placed in a warm place for maintenance. The temperature is too high and the cuttings are prone to rot in summer. The main measure is to provide shade, blocking out half of the sunlight. At the same time, use a sprayer to spray several times a day. Spray more when the temperature is high and less when the temperature is low.

Humidity: After cuttings, keep the indoor humidity above 50%. Humidity can be increased by misting the area three times a day. Remember, excessive spraying will cause the cuttings to rot.
