Yellowing of hyacinth leaves and treatment techniques

Yellowing of hyacinth leaves and treatment techniques

reason

Water yellow

Excessive watering causes yellowing of leaves, dullness of new leaves, and no obvious changes in old leaves. The roots are small and yellow-green in color, and the new shoots are shriveled and do not grow, affecting the appearance.

Treatment method: control watering. If the problem is too serious, remove the plant from the pot directly, place it in a cool place to dry, and then put it back in the pot.

Phellodendron chinense

Lack of water in the plant can also cause the leaves to turn yellow, which is manifested by the old leaves gradually turning yellow and falling off from the bottom to the top, but the new leaves grow well.

Treatment method: Gradually increase the amount and frequency of watering.

Fat Yellow

Excessive fertilization will cause fertilizer damage, the tips of new leaves will gradually turn brown, and the tips of old leaves will dry up and gradually fall off. Although the leaves are thick and shiny, they are uneven.

Treatment method: If you apply too much fertilizer, stop fertilizing immediately, or water to dilute the fertilizer.

Burnt Yellow

Hyacinth is a shade-loving plant that requires relatively moist soil in the pot and should be placed in semi-shade for maintenance. If exposed to direct strong sunlight, the leaves will have yellow tips. Moreover, the plants grow unevenly, growing better in shaded areas and less prone to withering and yellowing.

Treatment: Move the hyacinth to a cool place immediately.

Alkali yellow

Hyacinth is suitable for growing in acidic soil. If the soil or water in the pot is alkaline, the leaves will often turn from green to yellow or even fall off.

Treatment method: Test the pH of the soil before planting. If it is alkaline, change the soil immediately. If the leaves have turned yellow, you can directly spray them with a ferrous sulfate solution, once every 2 to 3 days, spray 3 to 5 times, and the leaves will gradually turn green.

Damp-heat yellow

Hyacinth is not resistant to high temperature and high humidity. Hot weather in summer, poor ventilation and improper shading will cause yellowing of leaves.

Treatment method: Pay attention to timely ventilation and cooling, maintain the moisture of the potting soil, and the temperature of the potting soil should be appropriate and not too hot.
