How to sow silverthorn

How to sow silverthorn

1. Seed treatment

There are many processes to be done before sowing, and seed processing is one of them. After the seeds are introduced, they are stored in the refrigerator and then taken out in late March or early April of the following year. Then apply a certain amount of disinfectant to it appropriately. Generally, you need to keep it on for thirty minutes, and then soak it in some warm water, usually for 24 hours. Then filter it out and wait for sowing.

2. Treatment of sand bed before sowing

One week before sowing, we need to use some disinfectant solution to disinfect the sand bed and river sand again, and also prepare some disinfected river sand as a backup.

3. Planting seeds

We can mix the reserved river sand with the seeds, and then sprinkle them evenly on the disinfected sand bed. Then use some disinfected river sand to evenly cover the surface of the seeds. The basic covering thickness should be that the seeds cannot be seen. Then spray the bed surface with a spray, and after it is thoroughly soaked, support it with bamboo strips, and use plastic film to seal the bed surface. This way, the temperature can be maintained and the seedlings will emerge faster.

4. Management of the seedbed

The most suitable temperature for the seedbed is 30 degrees. If the temperature exceeds that, the film at both ends should be opened to allow it to ventilate and cool down to prevent the seedlings from being burned by high temperature. When the sand on the surface of the bed begins to turn white, you should use spray to add some moisture. Under normal circumstances, the seeds will begin to emerge in three days, seedlings will emerge after a week, and after ten days, the film will be lifted in the evening or on cloudy days to harden the seedlings. In this way, the sowing is truly completed. During the sowing period, you must pay attention to these steps, so that more seedlings can emerge.
