How does the gypsophila survive the winter?

How does the gypsophila survive the winter?

1. Temperature

The hyacinthus orchid is native to tropical and subtropical areas with high temperatures. It can withstand heat but is more afraid of cold. When the temperature is below 10℃, the hyacinthus orchid will be damaged by frost.

When the temperature is 5℃, the stems of the Oleander are easy to rot, so it is best to place it in a greenhouse in winter. If conditions do not permit, you can also place it in a warm place indoors and wrap the flowerpot and the plant with plastic film, which can also serve as a warm place. You can also use cotton and light bulbs to help keep warm. The temperature around the plants should be kept at around 10 to 22 degrees Celsius.

2. Lighting

In the summer, the Oxeye Root should be avoided from direct sunlight, but in the winter, it must maintain a certain amount of sunlight. If there is insufficient light, the Oxeye Root will suffer from malnutrition. In winter, when the weather is good and there is no wind, when the temperature is relatively high at noon, you can remove the plastic film and place the plants next to a well-lit glass window facing south to let them bask in the sun. After a while, turn the flowerpot to ensure that the entire plant can be evenly exposed to sunlight.

3. Water

The Oxyphylla has a relatively strong water storage function, especially in winter. When it is in a dormant process, its physiological ability is weakened and its water consumption will also decrease. At this time, it basically does not need to be watered. If it is watered too much, once it is injured or the temperature is slightly cold, the plant will get rot. The large amount of water stored in the body of the melon can ensure that it can be self-sufficient for several months in winter. If you are really worried, you can water it about once every 30 days.

4. Humidity

Although the Oxyphylla has a lot of water in its body, it also needs to maintain a slightly humid air humidity. Some people are afraid that the Oxyphylla will be too cold, so they put it in an air-conditioned room or next to a stove. As a result, the temperature is too high and the air humidity is too low, and the Oxyphylla is dried up. If the air humidity is too dry and the temperature is relatively high, you can increase the frequency of watering appropriately, or buy a humidifier.

By paying attention to the above points, your flower lovers' ephemera will surely survive the winter safely and bloom beautiful flowers next year. Finally, there is one more important point. When you open the plastic film in spring, you must prevent late spring cold.
