The umbrella tree will grow stronger if there is sufficient nutrients, and its leaves will be flatter, darker green and brighter. Potassium fertilizer, phosphorus fertilizer, nitrogen fertilizer, or organic fertilizer, oil meal fertilizer and soybean cake are all acceptable. The most convenient way is to directly purchase special fertilizers and apply them strictly according to the fertilizer instructions.

In fact, the method of fertilizing the umbrella plant is very simple. You only need to fertilize it once a month, or once every 45 days. However, during the growing period, the frequency of fertilization should be increased. Fertilization can be done once every 20 days. At this time, the fertilizer should be mainly nitrogen fertilizer, which can make the branches and leaves of the plant grow more luxuriantly and densely, and its leaves will be larger and brighter.

Time of fertilization

In autumn, stop applying nitrogen fertilizer and switch directly to potassium fertilizer. This will be very helpful for plants to survive the winter.

Fertilization can be suspended in winter, but if the breeding temperature in winter can be maintained between 18 and 20 degrees, fertilizer can be applied once a month and a half.

Watering should be done immediately after fertilizing to allow the plants to better absorb the nutrients in the fertilizer, but attention should be paid to the amount of watering. It should not be too wet, otherwise the plants will not only fail to absorb any nutrients, but also suffer from leaf fall and root rot.

If you are propagating the large-leaved umbrella plant by cuttings, you must wait until the cuttings take root before applying fertilizer, otherwise it will cause the roots of the plant to rot and it will be difficult to take root.
