Disease and insect pest control of firecracker flower

Disease and insect pest control of firecracker flower

Possible pests and diseases

The firecracker plant is quite easy to grow and is not easily affected by diseases and pests. However, this happens occasionally. There are three main diseases that plants may suffer from: brown spot, powdery mildew and leaf spot. As for insects that may threaten plant health, there are two main types: whiteflies and scale insects.

Measures taken

The main method we use is to use medicine. For the first disease, you can use 500 times diluted carbendazim with a 40% concentration for spraying; for the second and third diseases, you can use the same agent, which can be 1,500 times diluted carbendazim powder (the concentration is controlled at 50%). As for dealing with the two types of insects, you can spray 1,200 times the solution of 40% concentration of oxydemeton-methyl emulsifiable concentrate, which can effectively kill the insects.

Precautions

Because various pesticides contain toxic substances, they will naturally cause more or less harm to plants. Therefore, when we use medicine, the frequency should not be too high. Alternatively, biological control can be used, but this approach is less common.

In addition to remediating pests when they occur, it is more important to prevent them. When the plant is not sick, we should also find ways to enhance its resistance and make it stronger. For example, we should pay attention when choosing planting soil and give it more light. We all know that light helps to kill some harmful bacteria. In addition, don't forget to ventilate the plants indoors.

Another point is that the parts of the plant that have been attacked by pests and diseases should be cut off in time to avoid harm to other parts.
