How to cultivate Zhaoshanbai

How to cultivate Zhaoshanbai

Water and fertilizer

Zhaoshanbai likes acidic soil. If it is planted in the north, you can use a combination of soil with pine needles and soil containing humus. Zhaoshanbai has high requirements for water quality and fertilizer concentration. When applying fertilizer, it is best to apply small amounts frequently at the right time. Phosphorus fertilizer can be applied once a month before the flowers bloom in spring, and nitrogen-phosphorus mixed fertilizer needs to be applied 1 to 2 times after flowering. Phosphorus fertilizer needs to be applied 1 to 2 times in September and October. A lot of water and fertilizer are needed during the growing period and flowering period. Proper control is required in summer and winter when the plant is dormant to avoid root rot.

prune

Generally, pinching is done to make new branches grow faster and the flowers bloom earlier. If the flowers of the plant are crowded, bud thinning should be carried out to maintain the flower shape and improve the color and quality of the flowers. Too many branches of the Allamanda will affect the growth of the plant, affecting its beauty and value. It is recommended that flower lovers prune the plant frequently to keep it neat and beautiful. The time for pruning is usually after the flowers have faded or in autumn, by cutting off oblique branches and dead branches to ensure the healthy growth of flowers.

Flowering period

The flowering period of Atractylodes macrocephala can be controlled artificially. If you want the plant to bloom earlier, you can put it in a greenhouse where the temperature is between 20 and 25 degrees. If you want it to bloom later, you can keep the buds of the Allium wilfordii at a low temperature of 2 to 4 degrees. If you put it outdoors, it will generally bloom in two weeks.
