Soil Rooting MethodThe first thing Huahua wants to introduce is the soil rooting method that everyone uses. Steps:1. If you want succulents to take root quickly, you need to prepare a flower pot with good water permeability and air permeability, and then put a piece of non-woven fabric, or expanded clay, broken tiles, bricks, etc. at the bottom of the flower pot. This can not only prevent the roots of succulents from growing outside the flower pot, but also has good water permeability and air permeability, which can prevent the black rot of the roots of the succulents that are cut. 2. Put the prepared soil into the flowerpot. The soil for cuttings can be made by mixing peat soil and perlite in a ratio of 2:1, and then watering it to ensure that the soil is slightly moist. 3. Insert the dried succulent leaves into the soil. You can lay the leaves flat or insert the lower end slightly into the soil. The insertion depth should be about 1-2cm. 4. Place the grafted succulents in a place with sufficient diffuse light indoors. After about 6-10 days, you will see the grafted succulents taking root. No watering is required until roots have formed. 5. After rooting, directly transplant it into a flowerpot, place the flowerpot in a cool and ventilated place for a while, and then carry out normal maintenance! Air rooting methodThe method that Huahua is going to introduce next is the air rooting method, which is also known as the hydroponic rooting method. Steps:1. Place the succulents that have not grown roots in a dark and humid environment indoors. After a period of time, the succulents will grow aerial roots. 2. Prepare a clean glass bottle and place the succulents directly on the mouth of the glass bottle. You can add a little water to the bottom of the plastic bottle to ensure that the air humidity in the bottle is high enough. 3. It will take about 2 weeks for the succulents to take root. After the rooting, you can directly put the succulents into the pot. Hydroponic rooting methodThe hydroponic rooting method is relatively simple to operate. This method is suitable for old stumps that are difficult to root or rootless succulents that are about to die. Steps:1. Prepare a glass bottle or plastic bottle and add about 2/3 of water into the bottle. In order to promote rapid rooting of succulents, you can also add some rooting powder to the water and then stir it evenly. 2. Place the rootless succulents at the mouth of the bottle so that the lower end of the succulents can touch the water surface, and then place them in a well-ventilated place with scattered light. In about 1-2 weeks, the hydroponic succulents will take root and the shriveled leaves will gradually unfold. 3. When the roots grow to about 2 cm, you can take it out of the bottle and put it directly into the pot! Vermiculite rooting methodVermiculite will expand as it absorbs water, causing the space to become larger and the air permeability to increase. At the same time, the water absorption capacity is also enhanced, making it very suitable for use in succulent cuttings. Steps:1. Because vermiculite has very good water retention properties, if you use pure vermiculite for cuttings, it will easily cause waterlogging and black rot of succulents, so you cannot use vermiculite alone as cutting soil. 2. It is best to mix vermiculite with other planting materials and spread a thin layer of vermiculite on the surface. In this way, after the roots of the succulents grow out, they will directly penetrate into the soil below through the vermiculite, avoiding the possibility of waterlogging and black rot. Concentrated sugar water rooting methodIn addition to the methods introduced above, Huahua has two more rooting tips to share with you. Steps:1. Use hot water to dissolve the sugar, mix the sugar and water in a ratio of 1:10, then stir evenly and set aside until it cools before use. 2. Soak the part of the succulent that needs to root in sugar water for about 20 minutes, then take it out, rinse it with clean water and dry it, and then proceed with cuttings. This can greatly increase the rooting speed of the succulent. Honey water rooting methodThe last rooting tip that Huahua wants to introduce is to use honey water as a rooting agent. Steps:1. Take a spoonful of honey, add about 50ml of water, stir thoroughly with a spoon and set aside. 2. Soak the bottom of the succulent in honey water for 10-20 minutes, then take it out and rinse it several times with clean water. After drying, cut it into pieces, which can greatly increase the rooting speed of the succulent. |
