Tulip hydroponic methods and precautions

Tulip hydroponic methods and precautions

Material preparation

Hydroponic box, clean water, nutrient solution

Hydroponics Method

Bulb treatment

No matter what kind of bulbous flowers you plant, disinfection before planting is essential. Dilute the thiophanate-methyl into an 800-fold solution and soak the bulbs in it for half an hour.

Water-soaked bulbs

After disinfection, the bulbs should be dried and then placed in the grooves of the hydroponic box. Add water to the hydroponic box until the bottom of the bulb is touching the water. Straighten the bulbs so they are not tilted.

Close the lid and place

After placing the bulbs into the hydroponic box, close the lid, being careful not to damage the bud tips. Then place the hydroponic box in a sunny place, control the temperature at 8°-14°, and it will take root and sprout in 7 days.

Seedling management

After the bulbs germinate and enter the growth period, they are more sensitive to water, so timely watering is required to ensure sufficient water. Change the water and nutrient solution every 3 to 4 days. Don't change all of it, change half of it at a time. Also pay attention to rotating the pot.

Buds and flowers

Soon, the tulip will grow 3-4 leaves and the flower buds will gradually emerge. When fertilizing, pay attention to applying boron, which will help the flowers to be colorful and beautiful after flowering. The temperature also rises to around 17°, which is conducive to the growth of flower buds.

Flowering treatment

After the buds appear, they will bloom in about a week. After flowering, move the flowerpot to a shaded place to prolong the flowering period.

Hydroponic tulips are easy to operate, simple and clean. Soilless cultivation does not easily pollute the environment. But the disadvantage is that if hydroponically grown, the bulbs can only be used once. Also, do not change the water too frequently during maintenance, and pay attention to protecting the root system.
