Asparagus fern lacks water and leaves turn yellow

Huahua has a pot of asparagus fern at home. Every time Huahua comes back from being away for a few days, the leaves of the asparagus fern start to turn yellow in large areas, which makes Huahua feel very distressed every time. So, what should we do with the yellow leaves of asparagus fern? Why not follow Huahua to take a look!

Solution:

1. Pruning

If you find that the leaves of asparagus fern in your home have turned yellow, the first thing you need to do is cut off all the yellow parts. Because the yellow leaves of asparagus fern cannot recover, just cut them off directly.

Before pruning:

After pruning:

If all the leaves of asparagus fern have turned yellow, cut them all off so that it can sprout and grow again.

How to grow asparagus fern to avoid water shortage:

1. After pruning, the asparagus fern should be placed in a cool, ventilated place with good diffuse light, such as a bright living room, north balcony, etc. It must not be exposed to direct sunlight, otherwise new branches and leaves will grow quickly.

2. Water the plant about once every 3-5 days in autumn to ensure that the soil is slightly moist. Spray water on the leaves more often, basically once every 2-4 days, to ensure a high air humidity, so that the leaves of asparagus fern will not easily turn yellow.

Money tree with yellow leaves

The money tree is particularly averse to waterlogging. If you accidentally water it too much, it will cause the roots to rot, which will cause yellow leaves.

Solution:

1. If the leaves of the money tree are just turning yellow and the roots have not rotted, cut off the yellow leaves and move the entire plant to a cool and ventilated place to allow the moisture in the pot to evaporate as quickly as possible; or put a towel at the bottom of the money tree's pot and use the towel to absorb all the water in the pot.

2. If the roots of the money tree have rotted due to water accumulation, the only thing you can do is to treat the roots.

(1) Remove the money tree from the pot if its roots have rotted, and clean all the soil on the roots.

(2) Cut off all rotten parts of the rhizome, making sure that there is no rotten part on the remaining rhizome.

(3) After pruning the roots, soak the roots of the money tree in a solution of carbendazim or potassium permanganate for 20 minutes, then take them out and dry the wounds in a cool place.

(4) Prepare to repot. The soil must be loose and breathable nutrient soil, then put the money tree in a pot and place it in a cool and ventilated place for about 50 days, and the money tree will be able to grow vigorously.

How to raise a money tree to avoid water accumulation:

1. For a small money tree, flower lovers can dig about 1-2 cm from the surface of the potting soil and touch it with your fingers. If it feels moist, you don’t need to water it for the time being. If the soil feels dry, you can water it.

2. Before watering a large money tree, you can take a toothpick and insert it into the soil about 5-10 cm. If the soil in the pot is dry, you can water it; if the toothpick is moist, then there is no need to water it for the time being.

Jasmine lacks acidic soil and leaves turn yellow

Generally speaking, the yellowing of jasmine leaves in homes is largely caused by the fact that the pH value of the soil is not suitable for the growth of jasmine.

Solution:

1. Jasmine likes acidic soil. If the soil is alkaline, especially for flower lovers in the north, the possibility of jasmine leaves turning yellow is very high. Once you find that the jasmine leaves are turning yellow, you should first remove all the yellow leaves to avoid unnecessary nutrient consumption.

2. Pour some ferrous sulfate water. Mix ferrous sulfate powder and clean water in a ratio of 1:1000 to make a solution. Water the jasmine plant about once every 5-7 days to prevent it from turning yellow.

3. When applying fertilizer normally, you can apply some alum fertilizer to jasmine to prevent the leaves of jasmine from turning yellow. Alum fertilizer water is a slightly acidic fertilizer. Mix ferrous sulfate, chicken manure fertilizer, cake fertilizer and water in the ratio of 1:3:5:100. After one month of fermentation, it becomes the acidic fertilizer that jasmine likes.

How to grow jasmine to avoid yellow leaves:

1. Autumn is the time when jasmine is preparing for a new round of flowering. It must be placed on the south balcony or in a place with sufficient outdoor light to make the jasmine bloom more fragrantly.

2. If there is no ferrous sulfate solution at home, you can use 0.2% vinegar water instead, or you can make the soil of jasmine acidic to avoid the occurrence of yellow leaves.

Lucky bamboo leaves turn yellow due to iron deficiency

Lucky bamboo symbolizes wealth and good fortune. Many people would like to put a pot of it at home to bring good fortune and wealth. However, lucky bamboo sometimes has yellow leaves, especially water-cultured lucky bamboo, where the yellowing is more serious. Huahua thinks this is caused by iron deficiency.

Solution:

1. Once you find that the leaves of the lucky bamboo in your home are turning yellow, cut off all the branches with yellow leaves to avoid unnecessary nutrient consumption.

2. After trimming the yellow leaves, you need to deal with the roots. Use a sterilized knife to cut the roots of the lucky bamboo at a 45° angle to increase the contact area with water and thus increase the rooting speed.

3. Apply some rooting powder on the roots of the lucky bamboo, then prepare a clean plastic bottle, add 2/3 of water, and put the lucky bamboo in it. To increase the rooting speed, you can put a black plastic mat on the outside of the bottle to block out light. It will take about a week for the roots to grow back.

How to prevent yellow leaves of lucky bamboo due to iron deficiency:

1. In order to prevent the leaves of lucky bamboo from turning yellow, you can mix ferrous sulfate and water in a ratio of 1:1000 to make a ferrous sulfate solution. Then, drop about 10-20 drops into the bottle of lucky bamboo every 5-7 days.

2. If you don’t have ferrous sulfate at home, you can also find a rusty nail and throw it into the hydroponic bottle, which can also serve the purpose of supplementing iron. But the iron nails must be rusty. If they are not rusty, they will not play any role.

Pothos malnutrition causes yellow leaves

Every time I see other people growing their green ivy well, many flower lovers are very envious. Why can other people’s green ivy climb all over the wall and fill up the pot, but your green ivy always has yellow leaves and doesn’t grow? Huahua diagnosed that this is due to lack of fertilizer!

Solution:

1. If you find that the leaves of the green radish in your home have turned yellow, you should cut off the yellow leaves in time to avoid unnecessary nutrient consumption.

2. After pruning, place the green radish in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance, and at the same time add some nutrients to it. You can collect the water from washing rice and expose it to the sun. It will be completely decomposed in about a month. Then mix the rice water with clean water in a ratio of 1:20 and directly water the green radish.

How to avoid the yellow leaves of green radish due to lack of nutrition:

1. The green radish should be placed in a place with sufficient scattered light indoors, such as a study, living room or north balcony, and watered once every 3-5 days.

2. In addition to watering with rice water, you can also water the green radish with some beer water, or wipe the leaves with beer to add certain nutrients to the leaves and prevent the leaves from turning yellow .
