Plastic bags and bottles are so convenient and effective for growing flowers. I really regret throwing them away.

Plastic bags and bottles are so convenient and effective for growing flowers. I really regret throwing them away.

The use of plastic bags for growing flowers

Huahua would like to first talk to all flower lovers about plastic bags. After all, plastic bags are the most commonly used in our lives. Whether you go to the supermarket to buy things or order takeout, the most common thing you are given is plastic bags!

1 Plastic bag to keep moisture and save dying flowers

If the flowers in your home wilt due to lack of water or the air is too dry, you can put a plastic bag over the flowers to keep them moisturized.

Directions:

1. If you find that the flowers in your home are beginning to wilt, water them slowly and thoroughly once, then use a watering can to spray water on the leaves.

2. Then take a plastic bag, spray some water on the inner wall of the plastic bag, then wrap the flowers and the flowerpot together, and place them in a cool and ventilated place.

2. Wrap the flower pot with plastic bags to kill mosquitoes

Although summer has passed, autumn mosquitoes are still rampant, especially flowers in the home, which are particularly susceptible to mosquitoes. This is when plastic bags come into play!

Directions:

1. If you find small insects in your home, but don’t want to use pesticides for safety reasons, you can use mosquito coils and plastic bags!

2. After lighting the mosquito coil, place it next to the flower pot, then cover the flower pot and mosquito coil with a plastic bag. Leave it on for about an hour, then remove the plastic bag and most of the insects will be killed!

3. Plastic bags are good materials for layering and cutting

Autumn is a good time for cuttings and layering. Plastic bags are not only highly stretchable, but also have strong moisture-retaining and heat-insulating effects, making them very suitable materials for layering and shortening.

Directions:

1. Fill a plastic bag with soil and wrap it around the place where you want to layer the plants. This will not only help the plants take root faster, but also allow you to clearly observe the rooting of the branches.

2. When pruning branches, in order to prevent moisture loss from the cut surface, you can also wrap them in plastic bags to achieve the purpose of moisturizing.

4. Use plastic bags as greenhouses to keep flowers alive

The autumn here in Huahua is very short, and it turns into winter in the blink of an eye. If there is no heating at home, you can only watch the flowers at home freeze to death. This is when plastic bags can come in handy.

Directions:

1. If the temperature at home is relatively low in autumn and winter, use wire or bamboo poles to build a simple frame, and then put on the prepared plastic bag.

2. If there is really no space indoors, or the flowers are too large to move, just cover the flowers with a large plastic bag.

The use of plastic bottles for growing flowers

After talking about plastic bags, the next thing to talk about is plastic bottles. In fact, the use of plastic bottles in flower cultivation is comparable to that of plastic bags!

1Plastic bottle as seedling box

The temperature begins to drop in autumn, and it is time to sow seeds. If you don’t want to spend money to buy a seedling box, you can make one using a plastic bottle.

Directions:

1. Find an unused plastic bottle and cut it into three sections as shown in the picture, leaving the top and bottom parts.

2. Add nutrient soil to the bottom part of the bottle, then water it thoroughly and then bury the seeds.

Seal the bottle mouth with plastic wrap, then place it in a cool, ventilated place with scattered light, make sure the soil in the pot is moist, and the seeds will germinate in about a week.

4. After germination, remove the plastic wrap, and then put the upper part of the plastic bottle that was cut off earlier on the lower part. This not only protects the seedlings, but also allows ventilation. Isn’t it very simple?

2 Plastic bottle cuttings

In addition to sowing, the most commonly used method of propagation in flower cultivation is cuttings. Using plastic bottles for cuttings is really the simplest and most convenient method!

Directions:

1. Find a clean plastic bottle. If this bottle is a carbonated drink or juice bottle, be sure to rinse it clean and make sure no impurities such as sugar are left.

2. Cut 5-8cm branches from the mother plant, keeping all the leaves. Then place the branches in a plastic bottle and add water to the bottle. The water level should be about 1/3 of the lower end of the branch.

3. Then place the plastic bottle in a place with sufficient diffuse light so that the leaves can fully photosynthesize. It will take about a few weeks for the leaves to take root.

4. After rooting, transplant directly into a flowerpot. After potting, water thoroughly once, then place in a cool and ventilated place for 1-2 weeks to grow, and then move to the sun for maintenance.

3 Plastic bottles for hydroponic bottles

Many flower lovers say that the flowers in their homes always die. Huahua has a suggestion for you. Since flowers grown in soil are particularly prone to death, why not try hydroponics? What's more, using plastic bottles as hydroponic bottles saves money on buying hydroponic bottles!

Directions:

1. Prepare a mineral water bottle (for the sake of aesthetics, you can choose a colored plastic bottle). Then cut off the upper part where the bottle mouth is.

2. Make a mark at about 1/2 of the bottle body, and then start trimming the upper part of the plastic bottle with scissors. Just cut the outline of the leaves, and cut about 10 pieces in a circle.

3. Then follow the same method to trim it layer by layer into the shape of leaves. About 3 layers will be enough. Then you can arrange the cut plastic bottle leaves up and down to make it look staggered and more stylish.

4. Finally, add water into the plastic bottle and put the flowers that need hydroponics directly into it. Dear flower lovers, take a look, isn’t it very beautiful?
