Soak bones in water to water flowers

At home, never throw away chicken feet, fish bones, ribs... after eating. Because these bones are rich in potassium fertilizer, they can be used to grow flowering plants such as gardenia, jasmine, and Milan. The flowers bloom particularly vigorously and cannot be stopped!

1. Clean the salt

After eating all kinds of bones at home, wash them with clean water, soak them for 2-3 hours to extract the salt inside, and then take them out directly.

2. Add water for retting

Put the bones in a plastic bottle or bucket, add water to about 3/5-4/5, then cover it with a lid, leaving a little space, and then place it in the sun. To prevent odor in summer, you can add EM bacteria or orange peels. To prevent insects, you can spray some insecticide.

3. Use after composting

When you notice that the water in the plastic bottle turns dark brown, it means that it has been successfully fermented and can be used. Use bone fertilizer mixed with water in a ratio of 1:20 to water the flowers. Water them about once a week before they bloom to ensure that the flowers bloom to their full potential!

Seafood shell compost

Because Huahua lives in Qingdao, she eats a lot of seafood. The shrimp shells, crab shells, etc. that she usually eats are good flower fertilizers. However, the prerequisite for seafood shells to be used as flower fertilizers is that the seafood must be steamed or boiled. Don't even consider braising or stewing them.

1. Collection

When eating seafood, keep the softer parts, such as crab gills, shrimp heads, etc., and discard the harder ones.

2. Add soil for fermentation

Find an empty flower pot, bury a layer of soil about 5cm in the bottom of the flower pot, then put in the collected shrimp heads and other seafood shells, and then cover it with a layer of soil about 6-10cm.

3. Insect prevention

Place the flower pot with the seafood shells in a well-lit and ventilated place. If you are worried about attracting insects in the summer, you can spray some insecticide when burying the seafood shells and then cover them with soil.

4. Retting and use

Softer shells such as shrimp heads and crab gills will quickly rot and disappear. After about a month, you can stir the soil and use it directly to plant flowers.

Fish intestines as nutritious soil

The fish intestines we dig out from the fish we buy home are also good fertilizers for growing flowers, because they contain high levels of phosphorus and potassium. If you use them to grow roses, the roses will bloom big and brightly!

1. Preparation

Prepare a foam box and spread a 5-7cm layer of garden soil on the bottom of the foam box. It doesn’t matter if the fertility of the garden soil is poor, you can also use the old soil that was replaced when you changed the pot before.

2. Add fish intestines

After spreading the soil on the bottom, put the fish intestines in a thin layer, about 2-3cm is enough, don't put too much.

3. Add orange peel

To prevent the bad smell, you can cut some orange peels into small pieces and sprinkle them evenly on the fish intestines. If you have insecticide at home, you can also spray some.

4. Covering with soil

After placing the fish intestines and orange peels, continue covering with soil, about another 7-10cm.

5. Sealing

After covering the soil, water it thoroughly, cover the foam box with a lid and place it on the balcony. You can open the lid and stir it during the period. It will be fully decomposed in about 3-4 months. Growing roses with well-rotted soil will not only make the roses larger and more colorful, but you will also not need to apply fertilizer for two years.

Beer as flower fertilizer

Most flower lovers have beer at home. If you find that the beer at home is expired, don’t throw it away. It contains a lot of protein, amino acids and other substances, and is a good material for growing flowers!

1. Wipe the blades with beer

After mixing beer and water in a ratio of 1:10, dip a soft rag into the solution and wipe the leaves of plants such as Clivia, Green Ivy, and Monstera. You can wipe both sides to allow the leaves to fully absorb the nutrients in the beer and become shiny and glossy.

2. Prevent and control pests and diseases

Dissolve aspirin in beer, then add 10 times the amount of water, shake evenly and spray on the leaves to prevent and control diseases and pests.

3. Watering flowers with beer

Mix beer and water in a ratio of 1:50 and pour it directly into the flowerpot to make the flowers grow more vigorously!
