Snowdrop cultivation methods and precautions

Snowdrop cultivation methods and precautions

1. Temperature

Snowdrop likes warmth, specifically, the temperature between 15 and 28 degrees is more suitable for the growth of Snowdrop. It doesn't tolerate cold very well, so it's best not to leave it outdoors in the winter. It is best not to go below ten degrees, below which it may go dormant, and if lower it will suffer frost damage.

2. Lighting

Snowdrop does not require too much light, and it is also relatively shade-tolerant. Generally speaking, semi-shaded places or places with appropriate scattered light are most suitable for its growth. In the summer, when the light is particularly strong, you must remember to block the light.

3. Humidity

Snowdrop also has requirements for the relative humidity of the environment, preferably between 40 and 65 percent. The humidity cannot be too high, that is, the surrounding area cannot be too humid, so drainage is required in rainy seasons, otherwise there may be diseases, pests and insect infestations. If it is too dry, spray with water.

4. Watering

In spring and autumn, the plants need more water, so you can water them more and keep the soil slightly moist. However, watering must be controlled in both summer and winter because it may be in a dormant stage. It is best to water on sunny days, and avoid watering on rainy days.

5. Fertilization

First of all, the base fertilizer in the soil can be mixed in an appropriate amount to reduce the burden of subsequent fertilization. The subsequent topdressing does not need to be too much, and the concentration cannot be too high. You can first determine which nutrient the plant lacks and then use it accordingly.
