Cultivation methods and precautions of white sedge

Cultivation methods and precautions of white sedge

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: It mainly grows in places below 1,400 meters above sea level, where the annual temperature is 20 degrees. Therefore, the most suitable temperature for plant growth is 20 degrees. If you maintain it at home, the maintenance temperature should also be controlled at around 20 degrees.

2. Watering: Its growth state is unstable within three years after planting, and it is necessary to prevent drought and waterlogging. If it grows in an area with annual rainfall less than 1,300 mm, it needs to be watered every week. If the rainfall in the growing area is relatively abundant, artificial watering is not required. Waterlogging prevention work needs to be done during the rainy season. After three years, the growth of the plants is relatively stable, and you can reduce watering appropriately. You only need to keep the soil moist for a long time.

3. Fertilization: The method of fertilization should be determined according to its condition. The growth is slow in the first two years, and it is sufficient to use biogas fertilizer water once a month. After two years, the growth is faster and two top dressings are needed. The first is the base fertilizer in winter, and the second is the top dressing in spring. Dig a circular ditch according to the crown of the tree, with a depth of about 30 centimeters, put in the fertilizer, and then cover it with soil and let it decompose naturally.

4. Light: It is a short-day plant and only needs four hours of diffuse light every day.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: It can be propagated by cuttings. The propagation time is in April in spring. Select two-year-old strong and hard branches, take the middle section, about 20 cm long, leave the upper leaves, and then insert it into the soil. It will grow roots in about half a month, and then it can be transplanted and planted in autumn.

2. Pruning: Pruning is usually done in winter, and the dry and rotten branches and leaves need to be removed.

3. Problem Diagnosis

1. Pests: Seedlings are susceptible to pests such as grasshoppers and snails. In order to prevent the plants from being attacked, it is necessary to sprinkle furadan around the seedlings for prevention and control.

2. Disease: If the plant’s roots rot, it is mostly caused by too much watering. You need to wait until the soil is completely dry before watering.

IV. Other issues

1. Edibility: It cannot be eaten, but can be used as medicine. It has the effects of detoxification, clearing heat, reducing swelling and inflammation when used as medicine.

2. Toxicity: non-toxic.
