How to propagate Kylin flower by cuttings

Cutting propagation time of Kylin flower

It can be done year-round, but summer is the best time.

Selection of cuttings for Kylin flower

Cut strong branches with terminal buds, or use dense branches that have been partially pruned, and select strong and healthy ones as cuttings.

How to propagate Kylin flower by cuttings

Step 1: For large-flowered varieties of Kirin flower, you can often see adventitious buds growing in the inflorescence. After cutting off the adventitious buds, remove the lower leaves.

Step 2: After cutting the cuttings to the appropriate length, white latex will flow out of the wound. Avoid contact with the incision. Wait until the wound is dry before transplanting the plant into the pot.

Step 3: After the wound has dried, the cuttings can be directly inserted into a small pot. After the cuttings take root and grow a root ball, they can be transplanted into a larger pot and used as ornamental potted plants.
