Do I still need to buy green onions? Throw the leftover roots into the soil and harvest a "scallion forest"

Prepare

Onion roots, flower pots, garden soil, shovel, watering can

1. When buying onions, choose those with fresh green leaves and intact roots with a little soil left on them.

2. By cutting off the tail of the onion, you can retain more of the white part and increase the survival rate.

3. Plant the cut roots in a flowerpot. If you don’t have a ready-made flowerpot, you can just crowd them with other flowers at home. It can also prevent diseases and pests.

4. Spray water every morning and evening, place it in a sunny place, and green onion seedlings will begin to grow in about a week.

Fertilize in time after new sprouts grow, because it is healthier to use organic fertilizer for your own consumption! If you use nutrient soil for planting, you can reduce the amount of fertilizer appropriately or even not apply any fertilizer.

When eating, just pinch it off, don't pull it up by the roots, it will grow back on its own!
