How to use fish intestines as flower fertilizer

How to use fish intestines as flower fertilizer

Method 1: Use fish intestines as topdressing

Buried fish intestines

If it is a ground-planted plant, you can dig a deep hole next to the plant and bury the fish intestines directly in it. Be careful not to bury it too shallowly, but deeper, preferably more than 15 cm. Also, the fish intestines should not be allowed to directly touch the roots of the plants.

Fish gut burial time

The best time to bury fish guts is in spring (February-March), or autumn (August-September);

You can also choose one month before the flowers bloom, or 10 days after the flowers fall.

Applicable flowers

Burying fish intestines is suitable for most flowers such as roses, osmanthus, gardenia, camellia, trumpet creeper, wisteria, etc.

Note: Burying fish intestines is suitable for ground-planted flowers. If it is an indoor potted plant, it is better not to bury it directly. After adding water and composting, it is better to water the potted flowers.

Method 2: Fish intestines as nutritious soil

Prepare the foam box and soil

Prepare a foam box, it can be used to store fruits or seafood, and spread a layer of garden soil with poor fertility, or old soil with insufficient fertility that was replaced when the pot was changed, at least 5 cm thick, on the bottom of the foam box.

Fish intestines

After laying the soil on the bottom, spread a thin layer of fish intestines again. It should not be too much or too thick, about 1-2 cm will be enough.

Add orange peel

Then prepare some orange peels, chop them up, and sprinkle them on the fish intestines to prevent odor. If you have insecticide at home, you can spray it.

Covering

Continue to cover the soil on the fish intestines and orange peels. Flower lovers who collect fallen leaves can add another layer of fallen leaves, but never add fish intestines or other leaves with strong smells. Finally, cover with soil. The top layer of soil must be thick, about 7-8 cm.

Sealed compost

After the last layer of soil is covered, water it thoroughly, then cover the foam box and place it on the balcony or at the stairs. You can open the lid and stir it during this period to ensure uniform fertilization. It will be decomposed in about 3-4 months.

Using this kind of soil to grow roses will not only produce colorful flowers, but will also not require fertilizer for 2 years, which is super awesome.
