The propagation method of red flower

The propagation method of red flower

Seed propagation of red flower

The germination rate of red flower sempervivum will be very high if it is sown in spring and summer, and it will germinate about 25 days after sowing. Autumn and winter sowing can be carried out in November and December, and spring sowing can be chosen in early March. It is best to soak it in water for 1-2 days before sowing, or you can choose to soak it in gibberellin. When sowing, you should also choose well-drained, loose sandy loam, then sow in spots and cover with loess. It will bloom after 2-3 years of growth.

Cutting propagation of safflower

Choose well-drained and fertile soil. The branches should be selected from well-developed and full branches on the sturdy mother plants. You can choose young branches or old branches. Keep 1-2 leaves on the branches, then cut them back. Insert half or one-third of the branches into the soil, then water them thoroughly, seal them with a film, and then give them appropriate light and air. After about 20 days, small roots will sprout and leaves will appear. At this time, you can remove the film and transplant it.

Grafting propagation of red flower

Cutting

Spring and autumn are the best times for grafting. Similarly, choose full branches and choose the flat side as the long cut side. After cutting, wrap them with a strip of film and put a film bag on the upper part of the scion to isolate it from the dry air, thereby increasing the survival rate of the grafting and prolonging the grafting period.

budding

The bud grafting method is generally carried out in summer and autumn. At the selected grafting site, the cortex is picked open, and the leaves below the bud on the scion branch are cut off to retain the petiole. The bud is then cut into bud pieces and embedded in the incision. It will survive after about 7-8 days. At this time, attention should be paid to drainage and appropriate fertilization. Pinching and shaping can also be performed as needed .
