Water hyacinth cultivation methods and precautions

Water hyacinth is very easy to grow. As long as you pay attention to changing the water and maintaining proper light during the cultivation period, it can bloom because of its well-developed fibrous roots. It has a long flowering period and beautiful flowers, and is deeply loved by people.

How to cultivate water hyacinth

1. Water quality

Water hyacinth likes rainwater or water from ponds. It reproduces very quickly in ponds and will occupy the entire water surface. When cultivating it at home, it is best to use water from ponds. If you use tap water to cultivate water hyacinth, you must expose it to the sun for 2 days to allow the chlorine in it to fully develop before you can use it to cultivate water hyacinth.

2. Lighting

Water hyacinth likes light. When cultivating it, it should be placed in a place with sufficient light. When the temperature reaches above 15 degrees Celsius, the water hyacinth should also be exposed to full sunlight.

3. Temperature

Water hyacinth likes a warm environment. The temperature between 18-28 degrees Celsius is most suitable for its growth. In winter, water hyacinth should be placed in a warm indoor place for cultivation, or insulation measures should be taken to prevent frostbite.

Water hyacinth maintenance precautions

When caring for water hyacinth, pay attention to regularly check the growth of the plant. If pests and diseases are found, remove the diseased and insect-infested leaves in time and spray 40% of the diluted malt solution on the leaves for prevention and control. When spraying, ensure that the environment is ventilated.
