How to shape and trim forget-me-nots

Forget-me-not flower branch fixed

When growing forget-me-nots, in order to produce good cut flowers, the flower branches need to be fixed, usually by pulling a net.

Before the forget-me-not plant sprouts, you can build a grid 20 cm above the ground. After the plant grows a flower stalk, you can build a second layer of grid. As the forget-me-not branches grow, you can fix the branches in time.

Forget-me-not shaping and pruning

During the growth period of forget-me-not, timely pruning and shaping are required.

New forget-me-not branches can be processed according to the size of the plant. For larger plants, you can retain 4-5 branches on each plant to allow it to continue growing and flowering. For forget-me-not plants that grow relatively small, you can cut off the flowering branches. This will prevent them from blooming temporarily, allowing the plant to grow and bloom better later.

During this period, the new and weaker branches need to be pruned regularly to reduce nutrient consumption and concentrate nutrients on the flowering branches. This can also improve the ventilation and light conditions of the forget-me-not plants and reduce blind flowers. In addition, after flowering once, when the cut flowers have reached 50%, it is necessary to cultivate the next crop of flowering branches. During the growth period of forget-me-not, keep a few new flowering branches. After the flowers from the previous branch have been cut, the remaining branches will have grown to a suitable height and are ready to bloom. In this way, forget-me-nots can bloom continuously.

After pruning, the forget-me-not flowers will definitely get better and better.
