Tips for Making Wintersweet Bloom More

Tips for Making Wintersweet Bloom More

Choosing a pot for wintersweet

If you want the wintersweet to bloom more, you can choose a large deep-cylinder flowerpot when potting it. When potting, you should also choose loose and fertile soil and apply enough base fertilizer, which will lay the foundation for the flowering of the wintersweet. Generally, potted wintersweets need to be repotted every year or every two years in the spring. If you change the pot in time, the wintersweet will have enough space to grow and will bloom well.

Fertilization of Wintersweet

When growing wintersweets, apply an appropriate amount of fertilizer so that there will be more flowers. The first thing is to apply sufficient fertilizer during its growth period so that nutrients can be accumulated; during the differentiation of flower buds in summer, spraying phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can promote the differentiation of flower buds, but be careful, it is best to apply thin fertilizers, otherwise the roots will easily rot. When autumn comes, in order to ensure flowering, fertilizer should be applied to promote the growth of flower buds.

In addition, during the flowering period of wintersweet, more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied, which can promote more flowering and stronger fragrance.

Watering Wintersweet

Watering mainly refers to watering during the flowering period. During the flowering period, do not water too much, otherwise it will cause the flowers to fall. However, during cultivation, the soil in the pot cannot be too dry, otherwise it will cause less and uneven flowering. Generally, just keep the soil moist.

Wintersweet pruning

The branches of wintersweet have relatively strong growth potential and need to be heavily pruned after flowering, so that there will be more branches and more flowers. When the flowers fade, cutting off the remaining flowers early can reduce nutrient consumption, and the flowers will bloom more vigorously in the second year.
