How to sow and propagate colorful peppers

Seed propagation of colorful pepper

The sowing time is generally chosen in late spring, either indoors or in the open field when the weather is sunny and warm. The suitable temperature for germination is between 25-30℃, and it will germinate about 5-10 days after sowing. Liquid fertilizer should be applied 1-2 times during the seedling stage, and transplanting and cultivation can be carried out when the plant height reaches 8-10 cm.

In a greenhouse environment, sowing is generally carried out in late March. Sowing can be done in indoor pots or seedbeds, and transplanting is carried out when 3-4 true leaves grow. In mid to late June, plant in the open field. If you want to grow it as a potted plant, you can plant it in a pot with a diameter of about 20 cm in early June, and it will start to bear fruit in August.

Seedling cultivation and sowing of colorful peppers

The suitable temperature for the germination of colorful pepper plants needs to be above 25℃. If a plastic film shed is used for insulation, it can be cultivated in all seasons, and sowing can be done in a seedbed or pot.

Choose fertile, loose soil with good drainage and air permeability. The soil needs to be sieved and disinfected by exposure, fumigation, high temperature treatment, etc. to kill the bacteria and insect eggs in it.

Before sowing, you need to spray the seedbed with sufficient water. After the water has penetrated, spread the seeds evenly into the soil, then cover it with fine soil with a thickness of about 1 cm. Finally, spray water again. If the temperature is low, you need to build a film.

After the young shoots emerge from the soil, water them 1-2 times with human manure or apply an appropriate amount of 0.1% urea solution. Remember to spray with clean water after watering to wash away the fertilizer remaining on the leaves to avoid burning the young leaves. When they grow 5-6 true leaves, they can be transplanted.
