Quiet Night with Old Roots

The newly pulled out quiet nightshade has very long blackened woody rhizomes. Such quiet nightshade cannot be planted directly, and direct planting may cause the quiet nightshade to die.

The nightshade is a succulent plant that is chubby and very cute, but if the blackened roots are not treated, such an originally healthy nightshade will be difficult to survive.

Therefore, when a long section of the old root of the Quiet Night Plant has turned black, such old roots are not desirable. In order for the transplanted Quiet Night Plant to survive, we need to trim off the black section of the woody old root.

Treatment of old roots of Silent Night

We need to remove the leaves close to the roots of the nightshade. Don't feel sorry for these lovely leaves. Remove the leaves close to the roots until the flesh-red and slightly pink fresh rhizomes are exposed.

At this time, we need to use clean scissors to cut out the blackened, woody old roots. We don’t have to throw away the leaves we picked before immediately. Although these leaves are not in good health, we can use them for leaf cuttings, so that we can get many cute little nightshades.

Drying

The next step is to dry them in the sun. The picked leaves and the trimmed quiet nightshades should be dried together. The picked leaves can also be planted after drying.

Be careful not to expose it to strong sunlight. Wait until the nightshade is slightly dry before planting it in the soil.
