Artificial breeding method of bullfrog

Artificial breeding method of bullfrog

Bullfrog is a popular edible frog. It not only has delicious meat and rich nutrition, but also has medicinal value. Therefore, it is very popular in the market. Bullfrog breeding has become a potential special breeding project with good economic benefits. Let’s learn about the artificial breeding method of bullfrogs.

1. Baiting

Proper feeding can help bullfrogs fatten quickly. Young frogs should be fed once a day at noon and in the afternoon, while adult frogs are better fed at night. The amount of food fed is adjusted according to the size of the bullfrog and the type of feed , ensuring that the feed is fresh and of appropriate size. When feeding, throwing the frogs into shallow water from the air helps to acclimate their feeding habits.

2. Temperature Control

Bullfrogs have high requirements for temperature. A thermometer should be placed in the breeding room to monitor the water temperature and air temperature regularly. In extreme weather, the fire needs to be adjusted to maintain a suitable temperature. When the temperature rises, use cold water spray to cool down and maintain a suitable environment in the greenhouse.

3. Enter the room

Before bullfrogs are brought into the room, the greenhouse should be thoroughly cleaned and debugged. The time to bring bullfrogs indoors is usually at the end of October, when the outdoor temperature is no longer suitable for the growth of bullfrogs. After entering the room, gradually raise the temperature to 22-28℃, and select healthy and strong bullfrogs for breeding together.

4. Change water

Bullfrogs are farmed in greenhouses at a high density, so leftover bait and debris must be removed before feeding every day, and the water must be changed once to maintain water quality.

5. Inspection

A dedicated person is responsible for management and closely monitors the activities and health of bullfrogs. To prevent the bullfrogs from hibernating due to low temperatures in the greenhouse, adjust the temperature in time. Be alert to hypoxia caused by blocked vents. Check the bullfrog's body regularly and deal with any disease or predators immediately.

VI. Classification

Bullfrogs grow quickly and need to be regularly graded to avoid cannibalism due to size differences. Young frogs are graded once a month to ensure healthy growth.

The above are the precautions for bullfrog farming, which can effectively improve the success rate and economic benefits of bullfrog farming. It is hoped that farmers can strengthen management and pay attention to disease prevention in order to achieve high-yield and efficient breeding goals.
