How far away from the roots should grapes be fertilized, and where and how deep should they be fertilized?

1. Fertilization location

How far away from the roots you should apply fertilizer depends on the size of the plant. If it is a two-year-old plant, the distance should be 40 cm. For three-year-old plants, the distance should be 50 cm. For students above four years old, the distance should be 80-100 cm. The older they are, the farther the distance should be. As the years go by, the root system extends longer, so the distance should not be too close, as this may easily burn the roots.

2. Depth of Fertilization

When fertilizing it, in addition to paying attention to the location, you should also pay attention to the depth. Fertilizer should be applied in the distribution layer according to the root distribution so that it can be better absorbed and exert its effectiveness. When applying fertilizer, you can dig a trench 30-40 cm wide and 40 cm deep, that is, the depth should be about 40 cm. Too deep or too shallow will affect absorption.

3. Fertilizer selection

When applying fertilizer, the base fertilizer is usually some organic fertilizer such as pig manure, cow manure, duck manure, chicken manure, and stable manure. In addition, phosphate fertilizer has poor mobility, so it is often applied together with base fertilizer, with 25-50 kg of superphosphate per mu. If it is used continuously for many years, you can stop using it for one year. In the later stage of topdressing, different types of fertilizers should be selected according to different growth stages. For example, urea fertilizer can be applied during the budding stage. Apply phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer before flowering to promote flowering. Top dressing is also required after flowering. Compound fertilizer can meet the needs.
