How to plant double-line arrowroot

Matrix

Use a loose, well-drained and breathable substrate as the potting soil, generally a mixture of equal amounts of leaf mold and peat soil; you can also use pond mud, peat, and perlite in a ratio of 2:3:1; or use loose leaf mold rich in organic matter plus one-third of perlite, and then add a small amount of base fertilizer.

Before planting, add thiophanate-methyl solution to the substrate. Use 1000 times the solution and stir it in the substrate. Add water and mix well. If you hold a handful of soil in your hand, water will seep out from between your fingers.

Seedling selection

The seedlings selected for sowing should be obtained from mother plants that are vigorous, free of pests and diseases, have a beautiful plant shape and thick leaves.

The selected seedlings should be 7-8 cm tall, with 3-4 leaves, free of pests and diseases, and without dead or yellow leaves.

flowerpot

It is best to choose a clay pot with holes at the bottom, which has better air permeability and drainage, and is conducive to the growth of the plant.

If you are using an old flower pot that has been used before, you need to soak it in 1000 times potassium permanganate solution for more than half an hour before planting, then rinse it with clean water and dry it for later use.

If you are using a new flower pot, you don't need to wash it and can use it directly.

plant

When planting, first lay a suitable substrate in the basin, and then move the seedlings into the pots. They can be planted deeper, preferably slightly above the base of the plant.

Hold the seedling with one hand and add substrate into the pot with the other hand until the pot is 90% full.

Smooth the substrate with your hands, gently vibrate the soil in the pot, and then press it firmly with your hands.

After planting, water immediately to help the roots take hold. Generally, water until half-thick, or just wet the surface of the soil in the pot.
